Assigning mouse wheel to throttle

Hey,

So basically I asked my parents for a gamepad for my birthday but they don't understand why I need it when I have a PC.

Anyways, I was wondering if I could somehow assign mouse wheel up/down for better acceleration control, because right now it's just either 100% throttle or 0%. Thanks!

 

I never thought about using the scroll wheel as the throttle. But if you have a console those controllers work fine as long as you have a cord.

 

you'll need a vehicle equipped with a specific kind of throttle, like you'll find on the airplane mods and the large spinner. then it's just a matter of mapping "throttle up" to mousewheel up, and "throttle down" to mousewheel down.

try it on the spinner prop, and then create an engine for a vehicle that uses that throttle system.
