Audio Bug on New Update (0.28)

    This is my first post here, but I thought I'd take a moment to show a bug that the game currently has.

    So, the bug is audio related; it seems as though there's no longer any muffling going on once you switch to the interior Driver Camera. I noticed it when I was driving in interior cam and then switched to the 3rd person view--there wasn't any difference in road noise at all. Overall the audio sounds better, but I just think that particular aspect wasn't working as intended, and may need to be hotfixed.

    At first, I thought that the reason might've had something to do with the new camera position, and that maybe a part of the Player head was outside of the vehicle, thus the game thinks you're technically outside (which it still might be), but I've experimented with changing the seating position and noticed no obvious changes. So yeah.

    Same here. Same problem. I got with BeamNG support, and they helped and recently said to troubleshoot the issue by finding the mod that is causing the conflict. That will take some time and I haven't done that yet, but I will let you know if/when I find anything. It's really puzzling me, because it makes absolutely no sense lol. This is one of the very few posts I have found. It feels nice to know that I am not alone in this camera bug though.

    Yes, please do. I'm also going to launch my game in safe mode, because it probably is a mod causing it.

    So it seems like it was indeed a mod doing it. I think anything to do with the Scintilla modding or ETK modding probably broke something audio related somehow.

    Alright. Yeah, I'll try to look into what mods affects those vehicles. Could be some CRGZ related mods, I'll see if it helps my game removing those. I was emailing BeamNG back and forth, and I told them that I basically cannot pinpoint the issue. It seems like my game decides to "flip a coin" for whether my camera sounds work lol. Seems it is different each gameplay session. It always seems to depend on the vehicle, map and other things; I'd never get the same results in a day it seemed. That's why I told them that I basically can't do anything. It would take so long to remove each mod, one by one, from the game and test it. I don't have time for that.

    Hopefully we can get a fix for this, seems not many users have this issue. At least, hardly anyone else talks about it.

    Lol I have the same issue here. Just spawned a car, drive it with interior cam, at least 15 seconds later the indoor sound muffling gone. Reload the lua (Ctrl + L), and the problem fixed for the entire session with that car. For changing cars or changing maps, I haven't tried it yet

    EDIT: nvm sound is not muffled again. The LUA reload only adds additional time for about 45 secs and then the sound unmuffles

    EDIT 2: So I check console (`) for errors, it says there was an lua error with PLE AT-TE. So I removed the mod. Reload LUA and vehicle. same thing happened, this time took 20 seconds until the interior sound unmuffles. I see there was a warning with "/vehicle/something" that did not found. And then I see a Gavril Vertex as a simplified traffic beside me. So I just thought that the mod was broken, so I turned off the Gavril Vertex mod and Gavril Vertex Semi Engine mod, then Reload LUA and vehicle. The muffle sound is working and I tried driving for 10 minutes the muffle still there. I think Gavril Vertex simplified vehicle gives that error.

    Yeah. I have actually just found the same fix last week, updated the post I made on the Steam BeamNG discussion tab (posted this same issue there too to see if I could get more people's attention). I was thinking the Vertex was causing problems with the muffling after I noticed that it only seemed to happen when the vertex was part of the AI traffic group. Sure enough, disabled the Vertex and haven't had the camera issue since. (Sometimes it happens for like 3-5 seconds, but that's probably just the game. That's rare, so not a problem).
