I'm using an Asus Xonar DG with Directsound for audio and whenever I'm in the car the audio rapidly switches channel with occasional popping and crackling glitches.

It seems to be limit to just Drive, any input on setting changes that might fix the issue or is this a problem with the engine itself?

Edit: I fixed this issue by disabling the fake surround effects (GX Mode) which were enabled by default.

I'd be curious to see if other people have this, I haven't had a single issue like this with my Corsair USB soundcard, Logitech USB soundcard or my integrated. The only thing sound wise I'm not pleased with is the audio loops when you press J to pause physics.

Not sure if this will fix it, but if you open the Xonar DG Audio Center and untick the GX Button. Had the same problem with GTA 4 and this is what i did to fix it for that.

EDIT: Just seen that you fixed it right as i posted :p
