Great Britain's answer to the Lambourghini Muira Austin Allegro for BeamNG.drive 4cyl carbureted 1.3L making 75hp 0-60 - didn't have time to test it lmao Top Speed 85mph best driven in beige
Great mod. A "legend" made in beamng. Stuff that could be improved on: Sound is a bit off in some areas. Brighter lights So more damage. Good things: Rare vehicle in any game. Nice and smooth Very realisitc. Things that could be added: More variants (which i can see the vote) Logo,s different models. Apart from that. amazing mod you have created here.
because there is no alegro body in automation. the princess one is the best option. not really. automation jbeams are autistic as hell. sounds couldnt be changed past what automation exports them as. you may be able to get away with tuning the sounds a bit, but i dont think so. also the lights exporting bad is an issue that happens when mods are exported from automation to BeamNG. nothing to change there. more damage? like i said- automation jbeams are autistic as hell- they dont crash well. maybe more parts that can fall off (fixtures in Automation) but thats the max you can do.
If you are talking about the Austin Allegro itself being horrible, then you are in fact wrong. The Allegro was actually quite good for its time. It had hydra-gas suspension meaning it had a very smooth ride. It also had very good rust proofing for the time (Even better than some of its German rivals) Some even had a 5-speed gearbox, which was very advanced for the 70s, and being very light, it offered good crash resistance, again compared to its rivals at the time. It served its purpose and was a perfectly adequate car for peoples needs at the time. People love to jump on the band wagon and hate on British cars, which makes me sad, as they dont deserve even half the hate they get. British Leyland wasn't all bad, in fact they made some of the best commercial vehicles of the time, and made some of the most revolutionary cars of the time (e.g. Austin Mini, Land Rover Series & Defender, Rover SD1, Triumph Dolomite, most Jaguars, Austin Metro and I could go on...)
Whatever. People have their own likes and tastes. Just know that the design won't change because of one person saying he hates it.Go download something else that you like more and stop hating on the car.
Its not that BL made shit cars, but that they where put together like shit, and had some.... interesting engineering quirks and features. Most of them caused by the absurd size of the organization and the severe strike-itis that the UK was suffering at the moment (Im fairly sure Longbridge during the 70s spent more time on strike than building cars). Have you seen the SD1? Beautiful car, put together like crap. The Princess, extremely advanced at the time but looks like a block of cheese. The Allegro, square steering wheel, and for some reason while it was shaped like a hatchback, didn't have a hatch.... for some reason. Triumph Stag, perfect design to avoid anti convertible regulations in the US, handled great, and ran like crap and overheated becase inner fighting forced Triumph to weld to Dolomite engines together to make a V8 instead of using the Rover 3500. Jaguar, infamous for horrible electronics. The Mini, not a BL design. They just kept it going and released some minor revisions that always failed and ended up going to the original design from the early 60s, the Range Rover, same design for almost 30 years. Im a fan of this period of history, some of the darkest times of the British Automotive world. But it would be ignorant to say that BL was good. It wasnt. It was horrible. Was is at bad as we think? No! Everything in the 70s was horrible, and thats why the Japanese came and in less than 5 years they took over the market.
yes but it is a car that makes you crying, that makes you ashamed which is known in 1980 for english's who don't have much money for buy a Jaguar XJ or Ford Cortina for example.
I agree with you on build quality, and I did say that BL wasn't ALL bad, but yes you are right it did have major downfalls. I think of it as: Great ideas, poor executions
