Wouldn't it be nice to have a map that's set in Australia? Long expanses of road, flat land as far as the eye can see, like in the first Mad Max movie. (Images totally not Snip & Sketch'd from Google Maps)
problem is, (from someone from rural eastern australia) there's nothing particularly compelling geographically about rural eastern australia, you could get most of this same experience from a midwest US map for example. Even if it was worth it, maps larger than 4x4km currently aren't feasible, purely on technical limitations, and you'd run out of room pretty quick with something so sparse. however, something more like B25mitch's map mods, with undeveloped bushland and urbanised areas (modelled off the brisbane area) makes for a much more unique, compelling idea, and plays into australia's unique driving conditions better (some city streets, some rural highways and back roads, some fire trails, etc.) if you were craving a 3rd desert map alongside utah and johnson valley though, something based on mining towns around the pilbara would also be pretty unique.
Yeah I agree. I feel like so many of the BeamNG maps are set in the USA. They should do more stuff from different nations.
