Hey. I saw a thread about automatic throttle blipping in modern automatic cars, but modern racing sequential equipped cars (Touring cars, GT race cars, Prototypes, Formula cars, etc) have this too... Here's the thread I'm talking about https://www.beamng.com/threads/throttle-blipdown-shifts-on-modern-automatics.86404/ --- Post updated --- How could I make a racing sequential gearbox have the throttle blip automatically on downshifts?
In BeamNG.drive, it's possible to bind multiple keys to one function or one key to multiple function. Simply bind the throttle to the downshift key.
But then the throttle wouldn't function correctly... I would be downshifting while I'm trying to accelerate, for example...
it works this way go to the throttle binding and add your downshift button to it then the gas would be applied when pressing the downshift button only as long you would pres the downshift button it wont do the opposite thing the regular gas binding remains intakt
Ok, I'll try and see how it works --- Post updated --- It actually doesn't seem to work... I added the throttle pedal to the downshift binding, but the throttle doesn't blip when I downshift with the paddles
upsie had a word flip in my text you need to go to the throttle binding and add your downshift button to the throttle binding XD basically the other way around you probably did read it bevore i was able to correct it lel
Now it works! But what filter setting should I use to make the blip faster/more aggressive? I currently set it to "Key (fast)"
just experiment and change it to your liking (or just hold the downshift button a litle bit longer down when you shift)
I've been using that one already Probably just have to hold the downshift paddle a bit longer instead of pressing it to get a better blip
This might be a bit different, but Exchy's GT3 Scintilla mod has a sequential gearbox that has what I like to call "Shift Wobbles", where, when you shift, the RPMs of the engine wobble or tremble a bit before settling into gear. I want to implement this into other sequential gearboxes, but it's quite hard to get right... I want the wobbles to be noticeable enough that I hear them in the engine sound and see them on the RPM gauges, but not so much that the car starts to feel strange to drive...
