Due to popular demand, I have released some of my sounds, particularly the sounds for a flatplane V8, converted from Automation. I have included 2 sample engines for the Bolide, so you can test these sounds out. Enjoy! PS: Please excuse the very large filesize, over 100 samples were included
Could you please upload a Video so that people can get a taste of what it sounds like before downloading it?
Holy mother of big blocks, would it be possible for a sound pack to be in the works? I think it'd be a huge hit since automation has such great sounds.
I used this extractor. It works on any game that uses the FMOD sound system. (including BeamNG but shhhhhhh) Step 1: Extract the files in the ZIP archive to the folder where the sound banks are located. ((Automation folder)\WindowsNoEditor\AutomationGame\Content\FMOD\Desktop\) Step 2: Run QuickBMS.exe. Step 3: In QuickBMS.exe, select Script.bms, then select a sound bank (any file that ends with .bank). Step 4: Open 00000000.fsb with fsb_aud_extr.exe. Step 5: Obtain the .wav files. Step 6 (OPTIONAL): Use Audacity or similar to compress the files. Step 7: PROFIT!!! No, they are not compressed, they are .wav files each about 500-2000 kilobytes. I think it's something like 300-500 MB total when extracted from the ZIP archive. Plus, the mod contains 156 samples, 78 of which are unused. Basically, all of the wav files without a _P suffix are unused. I already have a bunch of sounds done, maybe I should release them in a pack
Wao that's a lot of files it just created. How do you separate the good/usable ones that are for beam?
For the I3, Boxer 4, Boxer 6, V10, V12, and V16 there is no rule set in stone, so you basically have to listen to each and every sample. (or use both, but that wouldn't sound very good) I prefer using the files with _P suffixes for the flatplane V8, crossplane V8, V6, I6, and I4. I use INT files for offload, and I use EXH files for onload. If they don't exist, then use the louder sounds for onload and use the quieter sounds for offload.
Sounds without _P are offload, with _P are onload, as stated in the wiki, I think that's what you mean by quieter/louder sounds. --- Post updated --- What I have so far, though the file paths may be incorrect. --- Post updated --- After some research, EXH is exhaust sound, INT is intake sound. --- Post updated --- I went a little trigger happy and ripped every single .bank file in the folder lol
