I know some people would rather just spawn whatever car they want all the time and not care about driving safely, so I'll propose a new gamemode to go with the "Autotrader"-like website section. It would be nice if, in addition to regular freeroam, there was a realistic Free Roam, where you earn money. All of your Realistic Free Roam data, including your vehicles, money, and total distance driven would be shown on your forum profile. Earning ingame money could happen via driving safely, so for example for every 10 consecutive miles without a crash, you get $250 in game money or something like that. This money could be used to buy new cars, used cars off of the new website section, parts for your existing cars, or to repair one of your current cars. Or all this could be merged with the Career mode. If the player has an internet connection, then they can buy cars from other real players instead of randomly generated vehicles. Here's what someone's garage might look like (it wouldn't have infinite money lol)
of course that's possible! sounds great. one problem would be buying a car from me: ibishu covet: radiator damage FL tire deflated 23% damaged covered in dirt engine hydrolocked all glass broken missing 3/4 hubcaps back taillights broken missing gauges passenger door heavy damage rusted in some spots may or may not burst into flames only 21 miles driven!!!!! only $26,000!
This could be included in the career mode. Have the cars in a catalog were you can buy them, from. I can only think of games like GTA, My Summer Car , and Jalopy that include a feature like this.
Basically have an auction house like in Forza Horizon 3, but with actual used cars? That would be amazing. It`s somethig I have wished for since I first played Gran Turismo 4. I have even thought of having something like this in the forums here(since we can save the cars state, surely it would be possible to upload that bit of information and download it), as a roleplay element, but then everyone would probably seem to have endless amounts of cash I can´t recall any game ever having such a feature ever, with truly worn out cars. Being the only game on the market with this feature surely would make Beam more popular and therefore bring in more money to the devs?
If damage would persist and you could repair just enough parts to make it drivable to your liking instead of having to pay for a full repair of cosmetics and all, I'd like that.
As devs said somewhere, the career mod should be similar to SLRR for the garage parts. So we should be getting something very similar to your idea.
So you are suggesting that we buy cars from Magazines, or the Newspaper or google for the career? That is a great idea. That we can find rare variants of cars, or buy blindly from the newspaper
This is precisely everything that I have ever hoped for to happen in BeamNG. Down to the punctuation. I can only hope that my wish comes true, and from the sound of it, at least a version of it might.
A used car auction house is now completely possible because you can now (As of 0.9) save cars in a damaged state.
