Re: B-25 Mitchell I've been eager to try this out. I'll download and test this out later on today. Quick question, could you estimate how many hours were spent developing this? Sent from my BLU ADVANCE 4.0 using Tapatalk
Re: B-25 Mitchell Was getting tired of flying wind-engines . MOAR CUSTOM LUA lel Cant forget the dive sound either
Re: B-25 Mitchell It's released! Hooray! Yippee! Oh boy! - - - Updated - - - While everyone seems to be asleep, here's a couple of pics for the morning.
Re: B-25 Mitchell A low-bombing accident left my rear rudders in critical condition, but I managed to make my way back to where I started and actually landed with limited pitch control. Purely awesome. This is a beautiful aircraft, and it's actually really easy to fly after you get the hang of it. Amazing job once again.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Fantastic. 100K polys?????...whoa. I must ask, did you get any feedback on low end machines and if it runs fine on them what did you do to accomplish that? Thank you for all the work on this! I'll vote yer ass right into the dev team.
Re: B-25 Mitchell A large portion of those polygons are interior detail, which is why it now has twice as many triangles as it did during beta 1. Regardless, flexbody polygons don't have much performance impact and 100k is within what's generally considered acceptable. It's not a particularly high-poly model; the nacelle cross-sections for example are only 16 vertices. My mid-spec machine runs this fine and I haven't had complaints from the beta testers. You might be taking off too soon. You can technically take off at 180km/h but the resulting stall will cause a lot of induced drag. If you wait until you reach 200 or 220km/h you can climb faster. Also bear in mind that unlike the Titan this has a realistic thrust/weight ratio and won't go from 0-200km/h in 3 seconds. 200 hours, give or take. I was surprised at how fast everything came together actually.
Re: B-25 Mitchell I'm officially really pissed off my screens are not going to the cache. I'm using the back up and it doesn't have a godamn cache file AT ALL. EDIT: Okay I'm going insane on the cache file and forgot it's in a different folder but screens aren't showing up. I have a feeling experimental doesn't like the hi res stuff. I'll take my rant and leave this fine thread to prosper. I have a special screen to celebrate this and it's annoying as hell.
Re: B-25 Mitchell I think that is the exact reason as to why I'd rather ride horses an crack whips...
Re: B-25 Mitchell Welp....put yer phone down and get crackin' mate! EDIT: Anyone else have issues putting up screens lately? I can't even get a regular windows screen to show....upload fail. - - - Updated - - - A nice flyby.
Re: B-25 Mitchell It's even better than expected...I love every single bit of it, from the realistic crash and flight behaviour to the amazing textures and little details like the scraped paint on the turning sides of the propeller. I really have huge respect for you guys who are able to make such a detailed jbeam...I hope someday I'll be able to make something this great. Thank you for this mod!
Re: B-25 Mitchell Just tested it, and, here is the stuff i love about this beast. It fly's just Amazingly, the best thing to fly in the game yet. It crashes better than any plane currently on BeamNG.Drive Incredible detail with, texturing, modeling, jbeam, others i may have forgot to mention. And finally, i now think of you with the other highly respected modders like, Nadeox1, DrowsySam, Mythbuster, And others. Congratulations on this mod, i highly appreciate your skills in modeling texturing and Jbeaming.
Re: B-25 Mitchell It most definitely is a extremely well represented B-25 in all respects. Flying this thing with a keyboard is just wrong.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Fantastic mod, Makes my CPU cry but i can't get the bombs and retractable landing gear working no matter what i do i'm on the latest experimental build. Thanks.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Simply just one word: Amazing It's incredible how much details are in that beauty, the model, the bombs, the flight-model and especially the crashes are absolutly stunning in that B25. You did a great job, and it's definitly one of the best BeamNG mods available! I would love to see more planes made by you!
