Am i the only one that has awful loading distances. Shadows, textures, grasses, etc they all just pop in as i get closer. It is really frustrating considering i have descent specs.
I have noticed this, even on max settings I am still seeing grass appear and objects render in right in front of me. My PC isn’t amazing but it could still handle an improved render distance.
As far as I know it's the game. I asked Nadeox about an 'Ultra' option for render distance but I got no reply. (I forgot which setting increases render distance, but one exists... however it's not very good)
The highest setting should be enough for this to not happen. Also depends on the map (especially if a mod), since objects LODs varies on their settings. And resolution too. Lower resolution will make LODs appear closer, due the lower pixel density.
That looks pretty normal. If you want, you can go higher resolutions through your video drivers (downscaling/custom resolutions). That will make LODs appear farther.
Okay, I'll give that a try. Since i have a nvidia card where do i go? I assume gerforce experience or nvidia control panel.
Nvidia Control panel, DSR enabled, DSR factors as high as your card can do without lagging, DSR smoothing something 10% or less at least to my eye.
I have it on Italy, grass popping up at a noticable distance. Dont mind it too much to care though. Noticed in FH4 that there is the same thing going on. Started to compare similar things in games recently. Foliage popup distance, shadow quality and/or 'LOD's with camera distance and FOV, shadow darkness, SSAO settings around cars and objects in the maps. Realized that there is alot of similar things in big budget games making me even more impressed by the BeamNG devs.
Yeah, having game run with gtx1060 or less is not going to happen if draw distance are set so that there is no visual popping, it might take quite some time until visual popping is history, GPU power needs to increase a lot and I think CPU limits have been reason also on some games, which will get better as games start using more modern things like Vulkan and DX12 so that CPU limit is no longer there.
