I have tried beamng on a gaming laptop as well and it lags all the time. this is probably because it is a laptop. think about it, right. yes, it may have better specs than a standard laptop but it will still struggle because beamng drive uses A: a lot of memory and B: a lot of framerate destroying physics.

I try to tweak my laptop. But one "cheat" i do is to use a program called Lossless Scaling. You can find it on steam. Sometimes it more than doubles the frame rate!

This is unrelated to the original post but if you don't mind me asking what settings do you use on that program? I have the program but cant seem to find any settings that make anything better, it just makes things laggier or distorted around the edges of the screen when moving the camera

It was recently updated. Well, I do get some distortion in fast movements, and in the edges. But rather that then fps at 15.

I use FSR and LSFG 3.0 (that is new since January)
    Only X2 frames between.
    Vsync disabled.

But I have not experimented that much with the settings.

I personally don't touch anything and it works. You only have to adjust the resizing level if you lower the resolution of the game.

Yes. But I now try LSFG 3.0 just because it is new. And new must be better?

This program is literally "game changing"

New must be better but if your PC isn't fully compatible with it it'll be worse.

It looks like BeamNG is running on your Integrated Radeon Graphics instead of the RTX 3060. You should be expecting around 60fps with ultra settings @1080p with a 3060.
To force BeamNG to run on your dedicated GPU:
    1) Open Graphics Settings in Windows Settings.
    2) If you can't find BeamNG, add the beamNG.drive.x64.exe from the Game Directory.
    3) Set it to High Performance (RTX 3060) for BeamNG.

In the Nvidia app, its saying its using the dedicated GPU so that can't be the issue, I'm thinking its because of the thermal paste.

Since Windows 20H1 (i think urs is 22H2), the Windows settings assigns the graphics processor to use, not the Nvidia control Panel (or app i think, i don't use it).

Can you confirm this by going into task manager and looking at the Nvidia GPU Utilization and temps (if shown) while playing BeamNG? I don't think it's a thermal related problem. Would be helpful if you could share your laptop brand and model no.

Also try disabling any filters in the Nvidia App, its known to cause fps loss.

I found the reason why, the Nvidia app automatically set up battery boost and locked it at 30FPS.

    plug in your laptop
    --- Post updated ---
plugging your laptop FORCES to switch to your 3060 , at least in my case thats what it is. even though ive changed anything related to graphics from my IGpu to my 6500M without being plugged in , it goes to the Igpu right away
