    Hi BeamNG Enthusiasts :)

This is a map designed to have a playground where you can easily create your own Blender based roads, rails or tracks. On the other hand you can have plenty of fun and improve your driving skills by racing around several prepared tracks. It is a fully self-sufficient map so I placed it here instead of the content creation thread. (Allthough it's been created to create something :p)

The are two ways to experience this map.
    1. Fun: Simply install it as a mod (by copying it into your mods folder). Since it is a map of it's own you can start up quickly and experiment with cars or trains on what I have prearranged. There are several roads and loops with several track profiles to check out. It comes with several spawn points. One of them is exactly placed on a railroad so you can spawn rolling stock directly onto.

    2. Creativity: Unzip the archive into your BeamNG user folder. You'll have the same as above but you can easily work with it, altering track profiles, paths or creating new spline based objects for your own projects. You'll need to have Blender knowledge and how the basic file structure of a map is! Start the BeamNG Launcher and select "Manage User Folder". Files should then be extracted into [BeamNGUserFolder]/levels/bsgt_b_tracks.

The tool like core of the map is a Blender file which you can find in
    .../bsgt_b_tracks/art/shapes/bsgt_blender_roads/simple-bezier-road_02.blend

Open it in Blender and you can start creating. Further informations are to read in the Blender file. Basically you pick a track profile and bind it to one of the prepared Bézier splines or edit or create new of them. Export your Blender generated shape to dae and place or update it within this existing map to test them directly. It's easy to have Blender and BeamNG's World Editor open at the same time. If you like to create tracks for your own map project, you can move the bsgt_blender_roads folder as an asset where you have to update paths accordingly or simply use one of the tools in this forum to achieve this. (E.g. AlexKidd71's great 'BeamNg Tool for map creators')

There is a hole bunch of track profiles I created, including 2 or 4-lanes, racetracks with or without curbs or sidewalks, guardrails, and railway tracks. They are already UV-mapped and equipped with PBR materials.

The Blender file also includes many predefined splines like an oval, a banked one, a small race eight and an action spline with a looping. You can attach parts of them together or edit the spline controll points to your liking.

    IMPORTANT:
If you plan to produce quantity of long roads you should split them and use level of detail for each segement. This advanced technique is not discussed here nor is the Blender file prearranged for that. This project does not take any FPS optimization into account. Is meant to have an easy starting point instead. It is FPS friendly, though.

Maybe I will extend the content over time with more profiles or materials also to serve my own needs for my own map projects. Feel free to post some pics of your creations, or ideas! If you have further road profiles made or in mind I will eventually include them into the template, if you like. I'm thinking, for example, of the upwards-curved tracks known from TrackMania...

If you prefer terrain based roads, I've made a tutorial for this different kind of technique.

If you may create own cool content out of this, please credit and link.
The creation of payed content with any of the parts of this pack is not allowed!
Uploading it, or parts of it, to any other platform than BeamNG is absolutely prohibited!

Happy riding & road planning

I forgot to mention here that this template is also ideal for creating complex bridges that can also contain inclined curves.
