I've been wondering if BeamNG takes advantage of multithread performance. I recently got a Ryzen 5 3600 and noticed an uplift in performance especially when I have multiple cars spawned in. My old CPU was 4 cores. Is the performance uplift from the higher clock speeds or higher core count? Or both?
From what I understand, the answer is yes, as it runs a car per core (so the core count matters) and obviously higher speeds = more calculations/second (so speed matters)... although I'm by no means an expert, so we'll see what others say
depends on what your old CPU was, but yeah, you pretty much get linear scaling as far as # of cars simulated and core count.
