I may not have owned Burnout Paradise, but I sure have watched a friend play it over webcam a few years back. It definitely will be interesting really exploring this city for the first time, but with Beamng's realistic physics. The elevation changes combined with those curvy roads will lead to some interesting handling behavior I imagine.
I think the main problem is using Visible Mesh as collision because so far Burnout Paradise's collisions haven't been ported. Otherwise, I gotta start testing things. Anyone know how to figure out LODs for a model? --- Post updated --- If anyone knows how to make models load in around you as you drive? Like, I know, I'm great at drawing. The blue dot in the center of the circle represents the car and the circle around the dot are the models that are loaded in. It will be definitely bigger than the perfect circle I drew.
Great! Since you guys said so, I'm gonna create a testing group and you're top priority on my list. The island is done as far as it's base, details are almost done. Stay tuned!
Yep! Performance will be pretty stable if we can figure out collisions straight from the game. lol didn't even expect this post to blow up this quickly, now I can keep teasing it!
I'm looking into getting Burnout Paradise on the XB1 Store, so that will be awesome! Can't wait until this is done!
