I had just updated the game and then when I went to launch it it said it would transfer the old files over, which was normal, but then it said that the wasn't enough space on my C drive even though the game is installed on the E drive.

I deleted the game and reinstalled it just in case in was on the C drive but the same thing happened. I also have 44G left on my E drive when the update is 16G.

Is your C drive almost full?

That happens because while the game is installed on your E drive, your userfolder is located on your C drive. The userfolder can take up a decent amount of space, especially if you haven't cleared cache in a while and have lots of mods. Consider backing up your current userfolder, and changing the location of the userfolder to your E drive using the launcher. I'd suggest making a folder on your E drive just called userfolder or something, and setting that as the location. Don't put the userfolder in a folder that is used by Steam, as it could cause problems.

Your userfolder by default is stored in appdata -> Local

Data Migration is inefficient, buggy and unnecessary. No need to create folder or make backup
I "migrated" my user folder by...........................................just renaming the folder, as shown in this thread
