A mod designed to change the game's current combustion engine starter logic to a more realistic and temperature adaptive one. It increases the time cold engines need to start, adds RPM fluctuation and pitches the starter sound. Also adds increased idle RPM depending on temperature. This mod was made for 0.35. The usual loading process is stopped when a different version is detected: If this message appears, you may have either an outdated or newer game version, in which case an update should be provided shortly. An installation guide can be found here.
This is awesome, didn't think we'd see something like this for years! This definitely will make the game just that bit more immersive.
It works great and it sounds so much better, but how do I ‘disable’ the mod? It seems like deactivating it doesn’t do anything. Do I have to restart the game after deactivating?
Also, something that annoys me in the base game is that when you let go of the starter while it's trying to start, it still makes the ignition on noise, even if it didn't start. Could there be a way to fix this in a future update?
Because of how it works (copying itself to the correct directory on game start), you do need to restart the game for changes to apply.
Would you mind giving me an exact vehicle so I can check? By "restarting", I assume you mean starting the engine, shutting it off and starting it again. Is that correct?
That is correct, and I was referring to the Bluebuck/Barstow I6 EDIT: I can no longer replicate the issue, I'm not sure what was happening.
Love it its such a small Detail but so important are there any good winter maps where that actually works with the temperatur difference?
Try getting the environment+ mod, allows you to change temperature of any map you’re on. Mammoth valley is a winter mod, although I’m not sure if there’s low temperature, but there might be.
That map is ancient, while sure, it works, it's painful to look at in certain areas. Search for "snow" in the in-game repository, and it'll give you snowy versions of a few in-game maps.
Yeah that is an old mod, I didn't think about that. Also, I believe this video I've recorded shows off what you're experiencing. After turning the car off and on, it does lose a lot of power. Sorry for the poor quality video, but you can still tell what is happening. Also, if you look at the Tacho UI app, you can see live power and torque figures, which are much less than the actual figures.
