Hi there, this is the thread to discuss my train axle system. Do you want to discuss the axles or do you need help with your train, please reply to this thread This is no "can you make BR44" suggestions thread. Please keep it on topic
Blijo updated Train Axle System with a new update entry: New powertrain basics Read the rest of this update entry...
Made this in a few hours: A flatbed car Two bogies, 4 axles. It uses the bogies and couplers of the locomotive. If more people are interested in making trains, I might upload some parts of the jbeam on request.
With the help of TStabbert, I added track builder segments with cutout for rails. This makes making tracks super easy and it works quite good. It has some issues with the amount of bevels on small radii (40m and smaller) but it works. I plan to add a normal rail shape with a bed and new textures and then I will upload the lua files to use it for your own tracks. And yes, you can do loopings: Early development video:
These bogies have any kind of suspension build into them? I would love being able of imitating real life train bogies set-ups whit double suspension and yaw danmpening
Nope, these don't but I can help you creating it I have experimented with sliding axles(like on a Gölsdorf axle), the double suspension motion and even rotating (steering) train axles. All work Just let me know what you are trying to do, what you did so far and what kind of help you need Feel free to modify and use my files
I wanted to realize this set-up for the bogies (see adjunted image). and here is what I have done until now https://beamng.com/attachments/ut447-zip.517624/ I need help making the bogies able of handeling the 50 metric tons that the individual coaches wheight at 120 km/h top speed, currently they are "not so great" at standing still. If you can help me develop these it would be great. Also Im quite new to any kind of serious jbeam, soo that nodeMove funtion on chassis_2.jbeam cough me off guard, never knew that it existed.
Sorry for the double post, but I want to know, Is posible to scale the wheels? Like make them bigger or smaller. Im doing a side poject (The 447 burned me off) for a HI-Rail sistem for the D-series and the wheels are way to big.
sure, you can scale things in BNE: Select the wheels and scale the nodes in the Y and Z axis. Keep in mind that the flanges will scale as well, you might have to do those separately. You should be able to change the weight and spring values too to make them lighter
Thank you! I just forgot that BNE had that function. UPDATE: Hey! It works! It can go up to 90 Km/h safely. The front Hi-rail is on the bumper accesory slot and his based on the bullbar. The rear one is on the spare tire slot. They both work on all D-Series chasis (I spected that only the front one would work.) Now I have to decide If I want to learn to do meshes and finish tis mod or move on back to the 447.
Heh, only saw your update today. That looks pretty nice I am working on porting the wheels to the hubs of various vehicles(and planning on releasing that) The concept: front and rear wheels are universal(two jbeams in the common folder) and then a hubconverter in the folder of the vehicles that sets the offset and trackwidth This won't work on the bigger vehicles of course but I did quite a few vehicles already:
That sounds Incredible! Looks like lots of fun wanting to be made. I just finished to do my "coversion kit" for the 447 to your wheels. Now in one archive I have the entire bogie (which has primary and secondary suspension setup) and the wheels. They all are covinietly prefixed with a "ut0_" tag, so I can use the reemplace fuction on notepad and instaly dupe bogies for the same vehicle. So If I did a vehicle with 4 bogies for some reason, I only need to do one, then dupe it. This is how it looks, tell me what you think! Im suure there is room for improovement. I just copied the suspension values from the T-Series soo I need to find a test bench, I will probably as @zagdima If he lets me use the F7 has my test vehicle.
Updated materials for the tram, this will prevent the lights from changing colours Just replace the file in vehicles/citytram_blijo
have you tried reinstalling the mod? If you have, it's probably a bug in the mod and will be fixed then.
