Sup. Here's a rather unremarkable mod which you can download below: notavirus.png.py.xml.js.apk.jbeam.exe <-- Oldest release LAWNCHAIR, BITCHES <-- much old many downforce such texture wow 11/01/2014: That should do it <-- Consider it fixed. Unless it isn't. It's a largish, almost tasteful DTM-inspired wing for the Civetta Bolide. It does things like stay still, go wonky, and fall off its perch completely - usually in that order. As for downforce, your guess is as good as mine. If you don't like the looks of the wing, you could substitute it for a lawnchair, for all I care. Crash behaviour is pretty top, but a little on the wibbly wobbly side. If it explodes, I probably left a beam damp value on 8 billion or something. Some FAQs and installation instructions are addressed in the readme enclosed in the .rar file. I'm not bothered to upload a screen of the thing, so I'll just post a WIP gif I left in another thread. 19/04/14 edit: Took some screenies. (imported from here) (imported from here)
Re: Bolide Racing Wing Very nice, at low speeds it doesn't make much of a difference, but at higher speeds it really does make the car handle alot better. Actually handles way better than the FT40 at high speeds.
Re: Bolide Racing Wing This... Mod.. Is.. So.. Sexyy. I NEVER drive this vehicle, but after your mod, I drive it much more now. I love it, really great job, I love to drift with it. Random screenshots: You should seriously start to tune some of the vehicles, you got skills, I know that's only a spoiler, but damn that's a good job.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Even it this mod does nothing to down force, it's still a great aesthetic piece to the car! Great work!
Oh really? All I did was see how much force it took to tear the wing off. Welp, off to do some high speed testing!
AFAIK, the wing doesn't fly off at any achievable speed. The lawn chair tends to detach at around 1050km/h, which is the point where the wheels explode. It will detach at a much lower speed if the car goes sideways. Note that the lawn chair generates lift due to its angle, causing the car to become very unsettled past the 300km/h mark. How did you test the wing? I've defined two break groups for it: one for its rigid state, and another so it flaps about after taking damage.
I tried to see how many times and in what ways I could take it off, most of the ways killed the car. and it's surprisingly stable at high speeds without the lawn chair. Overall, a great mod!
To say that I was annoyed with aliasing is an understatement. To call the texture on the lawnchair "high definition" is also an understatement. Think along the lines of "4k". And it still looks like shit. (imported from here) Would be comfy though. -- Downloads in OP not updated yet. Will update when I texture the wing.
The wing, or the lawnchair? The lawnchair is hidden by default; you need to select it through Ctrl+W in-game. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is wait for the next update where everything is textured, pretty, and (hopefully) working.
Same issue here i don t have the wing . I install your mod in the super folder i can see it in the part menu ingame, but can t see it on the car
New upload with textures, normalmaps, slightly-less-likely-to-explode-in-water lawnchair, and heaps of extra (one other) goodies. (imported from here) The number of downloads versus the number of replies to this thread is- THANKS for the FEEDBACK you little SHITS. ALL 426 OF YOU.
Hi Zappymouse i try your last version but same issue i don t see the wing ? i dont understand why BTW the mod looks very cool really want to test it by my self
I'm not too sure why it doesn't work for you, unless your skin is goofing up the wing. It shouldn't though, because the wing and lawnchair have their textures independent of the body. Check the debug menu for errors, and check the .dds files against the filenames referenced in the materials.cs. Also check that the material assigned to the wing is "super_wing", instead of "super_wing.001" or something. Can someone else confirm if the mod is working or not? I've tested it on three different computers with all of them showing the meshes correctly.
