Good luck folks and remember whatever they try to tell you, your GCSE's are not the most important things you do in your life :)

It is still possible to go to university if you miss a pass or two. The university will probably still see that you are a good person and that you should go, or maybe you’re really good at rugby or football.

Regardless, I hope you did well, lads.

Don't go too hard on yourselves if you don't get the results you want. GCSEs are pretty worthless, you only need them to get into college/sixthform. They'll have little impact on getting a job in the future. Your college/sixthform grades are more important, because that is what will be considered most when applying for Uni or a job (though I've found that when you're fresh out of edu, employers tend to look more at out of school stuff that you do than your qualifications).

Went alright for me, Maths was a disappointment, was mostly damage control. I got a 7, which is the min required for my A level courses, but in the mocks I got a 9, so you can see where I was coming from.

English Language I got a 7! last time I got a 5, nice improvement, and mainly because the night before I found a teacher doing low quality youtube videos, but still useful. 360p I don't care :p

English lit, got 6. Nice enough, I knew I got a 6 after I walked out the exam, but I didn't expect a 7 in language.

RE I got a 6 in, I never really tried. Nice though

French I got 5, I did the foundation tier, I really wish I did higher so that I would probably get a 6. But anyway I don't need French, and it's still a pass.

Science was strong, 8's in all of them, but I was expecting a 9 somewhere, but nothing. Physics was another disaster, forgot my calculator so did paper 2 on a normal calculator, then quickly re-done all the test in 5 minutes with a proper calculator as there was one free then!! (so stupid). Chemistry surprised me, but I did find it easy, and paper 2 was a real blessing. Biology was not too bad, I saw that 8 coming since I faired alright, when everyone else came out of the exam hall screaming :p

Business studies, got an A but if my coursework wasn't so terrible then it would be higher. (I only just skimmed an A), annoying really as I wrote TONNES for my coursework (it was typed), everyone else did about 1000-2000 words, I did 5000! I said it's a bit waffly but someone else said it doesn't matter, they mark it constructively, but looking back I repeated myself countless times in it (and definetly lost focus of the question).

Quite happy on the whole with my results. They aren't perfect, but good enough for me. Maths is a bugger, but it's adequate and kind of set in stone now. Onwards an upwards.

Oh and on the whole for the exams, especially for maths, I really wish I had more sleep, i'm really sensitive to sleep deprivation (is that called being lazy?) and anything below 8h really kills me, I sometimes fall asleep and my mind really isn't awake. Sadly that was true for Paper 1 and 2 for maths. Silly mistakes I did. Like cube root of 16 is not 8!!!! (grrrrrr!)

    thx, 4 A-levels, i start on tuesday. I'm actually excited :p

It's kind of a lot of work, as i want to be a secondary science teacher, pay isn't amazing (i'll go for head of dept for sure tho) but for me, teaching doesn't even sound like work, yes there is admin, but when you just teach, it's amazing.

Cool, I’m starting GCSE’s on Wednesday. It’s not going to be too big a jump tho as we’ve been doing GCSE work since January. I’ve been told you have to relearn everything you thought you knew for A-Levels tho, but it’s definitley exciting!
