Bruckell Moonhawk Mid 70's Chevrolet engines V 3.0 (Updated for 0.6.1.0) I made this mid 70's engine mod for Moonhawk using real engine torque curves and specs from Chevelle information kits. I spent many hours searching for information about these engines, transmissions and axle ratios and many more tweaking the acceleration and top speed to realistic values. All engines and transmissions also have realistic weight. The Moonhawk is somewhat lighter than Chevelle, so it is slightly faster. This mod is only .jbeam mod, it uses original meshes. I have included some custom presets with these engines and stock axle ratios. Tested in version 0.6.1.0 Engines included are: 250 cui I6 105 hp L22 305 cui V8 140 hp LG3 350 cui V8 145 hp L65 400 cui V8 175 hp LT4 454 cui V8 235 hp LS4 Codes in the end of each line are Chevrolet regular production option codes. All engines are available with 3-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission individually adjusted for each engine. 250 cid and 350 cid engines are also available with 3-speed manual and 454 with Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. There are also real Chevy axle ratios used with these engine/transmission combinations. All axles are available with Chevy "Posi-Traction" limited-slip differential. Stock ratios are: 250,305 and 400 engines, manual and automatic: 2.73 standard, 3.08 optional 350 engine, automatic: 2.73 standard, 2.56 optional 350 engine, manual: 3.08 standard 454 engine, manual: 3.42 standard 454 engine, automatic: 2.73 standard, 3.42 optional All specs are from '74 and '76 Chevrolet Chevelle information kits found from gmheritagecenter.com Torque curves for engines found from automobile-catalog.com Changelog: V3.0 -Updated .jbeams for game version 0.6.1.0 -Slightly increased engine power to match the net ratings in torque curve app -Removed small flatbed trailers from towpackage configs Changelog: V2.0 -Easier installation: drop the .zip file to mods folder -Custom HD-suspension dropped because of improved official HD-suspension -Engine inertia and friction adjustments because of improved official tire simulation -Top speed is now realistic -350 cid manual transmission added -Simplified .jbeam structures Note: If you have any old versions called GM_engines_by_mike94 in your mods folder, please remove them and clear the cache before playing
Do you know how to set drag coefficients? I started trying to figure out when the Subaru 22b couldnt break 110.
Engine Friction and brakingCoef subtract from those curves because the torqueCurve figure is the "gross internal torque" of the engine. That's probably why top speed is a bit low. Final output torque at a given rpm is something close to torqueCurve - Friction - brakingCoef*rpm*0.1047.
Finally I updated this mod for 0.6.1.0 and had to move it here from mods repository because of issues with real brand names.
