Smoke? Why would it be smokey? There is no smoke here... just a lot of rain lately. There has been a lot of flooding in my area (thank heavens I live at the tip top of a massive hill)

As for progress... um... well... as usual I have been having trouble finding time (big shock I know) BUUUUTTT... I think should be able to work on it some tonight. I don't even know what I should add in next... I guess I could do the doors... or perhaps the bumpers... I dunno.

What I am basically going to do is add all of the single parts in first, then I will start adding in all of the extra parts (different body types and what not) as to make everything work a bit easier... I also have started to use the included BeamEditor a bit more, so that can quicken progress when it comes to attaching JBeams together... previously, whenever I attached JBeams together, I did it all by hand which, as you can imagine for bigger parts like the bodys and what not, can end up taking a LOT of time. Being able to do it visually definitely helps the process along and can mean that rather than spending 2 hours connecting one body to the frame, I can do the whole thing in about 10 minutes... MASSIVE improvement.

    BUMP(ers)

The gap between the bumper & body on the last picture is actually fixed in the latest .blend file, but the changes haven't been implemented yet. It will be updated after all of the parts from the current build that atv_123 has will be ingame :)

    Hello,
I have been following this post for a few months now and today I just started commenting and posting for the first time on the Beamng Forums. I have worked around Humvees before and own its very early predecessor (for multipurpose scout cars that is) a 1945 Willys MB, which I am restoring. I can't really help in any way other than encourage, so I'll just say that this mod has come a really long ways since you first started and is top notch! Thank you for what you're doing.

Well, how coincidental that you ask @crazyguy69 ... Yes, I've done this today, actually.

If someone can guess from where I got this rollcage-body idea, will get... nothing :p

I remember a discussion with rally car builder, he did mention that putting that 'flange end of the tube and another on other side of the body, so that two thick sheets of metal make kind of sandwich with the body in the middle, is needed or rollcage will tear piece of body off at crash.

I don't know if it was just way one builder saw it or if it was general approach, but kinda make sense.

That bar ending rear fender looks bit odd, but then again I don't know if H1 has enough thickness there and on other hand that is probably holding much of stress as there are so many other points to share forces. I have not seen real ones, but I would guess it is same in real thing, considering how much effort you are putting to this :p

It is interesting that rollcage is stiffening body instead of frame, with unibodies it is chassis where mounting points are so kinda presumed it would be frame with these, but probably would be kinda difficult to make and I guess body is sturdy enough to hold well.

I can't recall seeing rollcage equipped vehicles that would had a frame IRL, all were unibodies and can't remember stuff from videos, those don't show much of how rollcage is mounted anyway, so that is why I'm wondering this aloud :D

You can change the psi in the tires via the tuning menu.
