It's a decent build, but you might want 16GB of RAM for an editing rig.
Also, if it's a dedicated editing rig, it doesn't need a gaming graphics card. A 750 Ti isn't really enough for serious GPU rendering, so save money, don't buy a dedicated GPU, save up for a proper editing card like a Quadro.

Of course, you'll only buy a Quadro if you're serious about those renders. If it's gonna be a multi purpose gaming/editing PC, keep it as it is, just add more RAM if you can.

He has a part time job at Aston Martin (manufacturing, nothing special) that pays minimum wage, so he has very little money to spare. And he also needs something for streaming the game capture things to the PC, his laptop basically could only do it at it's lowest quality. If he gets big numbers on YouTube then he will probably get a Quadro, but until then, he has to be a little tight on money.

If it's a dedicated editing rig, don't get a graphics card, get 16GB RAM and a better mobo instead (cheap board = not good). He saves money and gets a better editing PC to which he can add a quadro eventually.

If it's a gaming/editing rig, he's better off with a R7 260X, since they have much better douple-precision floating point performance, much needed for rendering.

That is a good idea, and do you think I went a little overkill on the PSU? 600W too much maybe?

Not at all, you get huge upgrade headroom. There's no such thing as an overkill PSU, just an upgrade-proof one.

    Ok, I swapped the 750Ti with a R7 260X and had enough money to get 16GB: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/RmPpJx

I might swap out the MOBO, but what would I change? Hence why I brought up the PSU swapping thing. Maybe he could stretch his budget slightly, but not much...

Ok, I updated the MOBO and got rid of the Optical drive and 1TB of the 2TB hard drive, hopefully the hard drive wont be that bad: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/yXLmK8

Remove optical drive, get a much better board. Keep the 2TB hard drive, you'll need a lot of storage for videos.

OK, I am glad that there is just a forum here that I can just ask this random shit, and especially glad that people are polite and are intelligent. BlueScreen is a good example. So thank you all on this forum, accepting me, a toddler in comparison to most people.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

That is a good MOBO but the reason I picked the MSI is that I hear very highly of that MOBO, even if it is a little on the expensive side.

Went all the way to a gaming board, eh? Good choice though, an FX-8320 is made for overclocking and you'll want a good board to do so. You can always add more storage anyway, it's rather cheap.

I'm not sure he will be overclocking, he is a console person. Which I am OK with, but he is a noob at PCs and takes the piss out of me when talking about PCs. All I say is "ENJOY PLAYING AT 900P" and he sort of backs down.
