Building Real Life Maps in BeamNG (tool is finished!)

    Update: first version of the tool is available here:

    I am obsessed by the idea of driving on any place of the world in BeamNG and that as easy as possible.

    I am working on a feature in my mapping toolset to achieve that goal... and things are going reasonably well.

    But see the video! It's half an hour long but worth it, promised :) As always I'm a bit confused presenting live...

    My elevation smoothing pipeline is working really satisfying. For every material selection on its own. But exactly this is the major drawback of my pipeline concept here. Smoothing out junctions from roads of different materials is horrible because it is a kind of post processing step. I guess I have to rethink this idea.

    The big update is there!
    I don't have a video tutorial right now. There is some info on the start screen of the app with a small tutorial how to do real life maps with elevation data and OSM integration.

    Almost everything

    New Feature Create Level Wizard, which guides you through all steps of map creation
    New Feature Generate Terrain from GeoTiff with OSM Data or Oldschool with PNG files
