Official thread for the BX-Series Engine Remake, here you can report bugs, suggest additions and Download the Vanilla Config Override Mod. Drag and drop the file attached at the bottom into your mods folder, its made to work in conjunction with the Remake Mod to replace all vanilla engines inside the configs with my remade examples. So make sure you have the BX-Series Engine Remake Active when you use the Config Override! This mod completely Remakes the BX-Series 2.0L and 2.5L DOHC engines and adds one a 1.8L DOHC and 2.4L SOHC I4 engine. With a substantial amount of customization and attention to detail. Plus additional body parts i also decided to include. In addition it also adds 180BX configs equipped with the 1.8L Engine they come in all regular production specs from Base to Gtz Turbo The Current WIP build includes a 4.5l and 5.5l V8 as well as a 2.5l I5 engine and more customization to play around with If you'd like to support me and gain access to early access builds of my mods you can do so over on my PATREON or KO-FI
I love how your engines both fit the dev style so well while also offering much more detail. Spoiler Code: "licenseName":"42478-pickup", But I hate you for this.
appreciate it! Me using mostly vanilla texture def helps the look of things and ahhh fair, it has just become my default license plate and i always forget about it lol
will what still work? The main engine remake mod just adds the new engines, the override uses the engines to replace the vanilla ones in the configs you need the remake mod if you want the override mod to work
only 1 config needs kljp, which is the "Craig Spec", and that does say you need it in the description
I have arrived! The mod is great so far, although, the headlight intake is a little awkward with turbochargers. Other than that, great mod! Also, some engine suggestions that I think would be cool are a 2 and 4 rotor engine, a 2JZ inspired inline 6. I wouldn't mind if the mod didn't add v8s, this car is meant to be a break from them anyway.
the V8 is actually the only engine i've planned, mainly cus im not satisfied with the modular type engine thats in it rn either
Hey mate, love the mod, absolutely so much fn to build heaps of different configs for! I seem to be running into an issue when trying to use the "Variable Boost Map" wastegate. When i equip it i can go in and tune the boost for each of the 3 maps, but then no matter what map i am in the following happens. 1st Gear: No boost, no matter what "map" (or tc mode if you will call it that) i am in. 2nd Gear: Turbo builds boost to whatever the 1st map is set to for eg 10psi, however if i am in the 3rd map that is tuned to 40psi, it will stay at that 10psi from map 1. 3rd Gear: Turbo builds boost to whatever the 2nd map is set to, for example 25psi, no matter what "boost map" i am in (except for the one that disables boost all together). 4th & 5th Gear: Turbo builds boost to whatever the 3rd boost map is set to, for example 40psi. This seems like more of a boost by gear, which i know it shouldnt because there is a boost by gear wastegate option already available. I had a little bit of a look in the Boostmap Jbeam file to try and resolve the issue but i just cant seem to figure it out. Would love to get this working to continue creating some sick builds! Cheers man!
Heyo thanks man! And oh yeah i didn't even mean to include the boost map with the release, only noticed after it got approved that i left that in there. It's given me a lot of trouble as well, tho its interesting that what gear you're in effects it for you, for me it was always the 3rd boost map overwriting the others no matter what, i think i was in neutral for most of my tests tho. i'll remove that feature with the next update again cus i can't figure out a solution to it either yet.
I have a question, what setup did you use to get that hood exit exhaust on the purple engine on the mod page?
Some drag parts to make a 2000-3000 hp drag engine would be awesome. (I did look it up, there are in fact some SR20s that have managed to produce that much power)
technically you could extend the 1.8 to make a RB25 style 6 cyl since the CA18 is essentially just a 4 cyl RB looks wise
Hey mate, no worries! I hope you don't mind but i have actually spent most of the day tinkering, testing, tinkering, testing etc. and have finally managed to get the system to work!! Is there somewhere i can reach out to you to share the new updated file with you so you can use it and implement it in future mods? would love to see this in your mods to make them even better than they already are! Let me know! Cheers!
yo that sounds great! best way to reach me is via my discord @javelink9 its the stage 4 turbo with hood exit exhaust instead of the downpipe maybe in the future, if i do it i'd like to visually represent it in form of a billet block material or something i've even made a rb25 and rb26 engine model, they are currently in the ibishu GTz-R Hecate mod also part of the reason why i don't wan't to add a I6 because its already technically present, even if it has less customization
