Can I turn off shadows/ vegetation?

I run a really really weak system. In past experience, turning shadows off was a huge FPS booster for me; that kind of asthetic isn't really important to me...

Can I do it?

 

In the options menu setting Lighting Quality to lowest will turn shadows off.
Additionally going fullscreen and setting the resolution to your display's native will yield more fps.

 

LQ is on the lowest setting, still have shadows..

 

There isn't an option to turn the vehicle shadows off (or at least I'm not aware of it).

 

Vegetation??

 

I wish you could turn off shadows and vegetation. Might make Drive on my laptop bearable.

 

It won't help, I'm 99% sure of it.

The game is very CPU bound, it doesn't put much of any load on the GPU. Same as Rigs of Rods.

What are your specs? Also, in the editor you can turn the shadows off via. "Simple Lighting"

 

It's a toaster (old PC)

2.3 GHz quad core AMD

8GB RAM

256mb Integrated graphics

(other specs irrelevant)

 

How to turn of vegetariation

F11, select object named Grass and similar and press "DELETE" button.

Sometimes it is hard to find, zoom out and select "everything" then you can see where the object is centered/can be clicked on

 

Just select the vegetation, go into materials and untick the ''cast shadows'' option.
