Cannot change the graphics settings

Just downloaded the tech demo, and when I open the game up it is lagging. I go to change the graphics settings, change some things, and when I click apply, the game freezes and the window saying "The game's not working, blah blah, click here to shut it down" comes up.

Can I get some help?

 

The game needs to restart the renderer and can't respond while it's doing that. It's still working in the background.

 

Try adding the -no3dgui command in your shortcut.

 

Can you please explain how to do that? I've never heard of it. Thanks!

 

Right click your BeamNG shortcut and press properties and go to where it says target. After that add -no3dgui on the end so it look a little bit like this: "C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG-DRIVE-0.3\BeamNGSandbox.x86.exe" -no3dgui
