cant download updater

so I bought the game a couple days ago and I havint been able to play it, it will try to detect proxy settings, fails and says that the updater.exe cannot be downloaded. then when I try to play the game it says this "Executable not found: BeamNG.drive.x86.exe" if this could be resolved that would be very helpful

 

This could be because of a few reasons:
1 - You have anti-virus activated that is blocking the updater, try disabling it.
2 - you may not have appropriate permissions to install BeamNG to the default location, try C:\ etc

ok so I tried it without anti-virus and without the game in its default location, but it will try to detect proxy settings, stop and then say that it cannot connect to server
