I did a search, but i could only manage to find thread about placing the spawn vehicle. Im trying to place a van, for example, in front of a ramp in the grid funhouse level so i can smash the hell out of it, and i can move it on both axis, and vertically, using the box, but i cant figure out how to rotate it with the mouse.

or do you just have to guess the rotation value til you get it close?

btw, its amazing how i can literally do nothing but ram cars into things for hours at a time. this is brilliant.

    Rotation isn't currently supported.

In the world-editor, go into "Object Editor" and then click on "Rotation Selection (3)". It's the third selection of four modes. When you click it, a sphere should appear around your object that will allow you to rotate the object on the X, Y and Z axes.

You can't rotate it but the vehicle will always spawn at the direction you are, it will spawn looking at you. This tip can be useful so you can spawn the vehicle looking to where you want it to be

Aaaand wrong. No it won't. It always spawns facing the same direction. Rotation isn't supported, it makes the physics go herp-the-derp, like 0xsergy said...

Sorry for the bump, please forgive me.

I wrestled with this like the OP so I thought I'd offer my solution if someone needs a tut for it.
1: Park your vehicle in the location and position you want "thePlayer" to initially spawn at.
2: Select your vehicle (If you drove in-game, open the editor first).
3: In the 'Scene' tree verify that "thePlayer" (and nothing else), and in the inspector below double click to highlight the string of ints in the 'position' field and copy [CTRL+C] (why no right button context options for these fields?).
4: In the 'scene' tree above scroll to the top and find the "SpawnSphere" object and click it.
5: In the 'position' field below paste [CTRL+V] the copied string and press enter.
6: repeat steps 3 through 5 in respect for the 'rotation' field directly below the 'position' field; copy from the car,
paste to the sphere and press enter.

    How I learned:
I tried to rotate the sphere using the tool because I wanted the truck pointed in a different direction. Nothing moved even though the values in the inspector changed. A thorough Internet search found only this topic on the subject so I abandoned the idea and went on working. I reached a saving point and reloaded the map. I spawned in some sort of green gas cloud in Boron space, was not in a car and could not move the camera. When I switched to the free cam the view changed out to the middle of the Ocean a kilometre down with no land in sight. I "swam" to the surface and flew up into the sky, the place was like Waterworld, minus the Atolls. About to cry I loaded the editor and found that the hierarchy was still fully stocked. So I clicked the teleport camera to player button and there I found my truck, right where I put it but it was sticking half way buried out of the ground. I properly replaced the truck on the ground with the move and rotate tools and re-copied-and-pasted the position information from the truck location to the spawn sphere as it was not quite where it should be, they should match. Leary of manually entering information into the rotation field (it doesn't act right so I use the tool with no problems) even so, I copy-paste the rotation from the truck to the sphere and it accepted the change, and spawned me in the correct location and the truck pointing in the desired direction.
