So the daytime cubemap is fine. But I want to get the night cubemap working aswell. This is what I want it to look like, using NightSkyMat for the default sky

I can't find that anywhere where you map the night sky...

I would even like a way to find out where most of those files in the dropdown go anyway...

Why not try making a dedicated night version?
I know that I've also had issues getting night-day maps to make the sky change correctly.
I will say, from experience, that people usually turn off auto-day-night on maps and adjust it as they want to. There's a very simple script I use in my maps (I will post that later) that transfers all objects into the alternate version without having to literally have a copy of every object. Using that, you basically just change around some filepaths for stuff like the info.json and such and then you can make a dedicated night version of your map.
I might even post a tutorial about how to do this. :p

I would love this. That would be so useful. And hell, maybe in the future, a rainy version? Douglas-fir's are near Temperate biomes either way.

    It's nightCubemap.

There's an issue where changing that won't show changes.
If you change, save the level and reload the game it should show correctly.

I used Nightcubemap, saved, closed the game, steam crashed, restarted steam, restarted BeamNG, and It doesn't show the night cubemap, just staying on BlueSkyMat.

    That's odd.
My modded maps uses that fine.
Try to change the value manually in the .json file

Look for 'nightCubemap' and change it like so:
    Code:
    "nightCubemap":"nightCubemap",

Which .json file? I copied from GridMap so that is the base file setup I have.
    Nothing in info.json about cubemaps.

Not the info.json file, but the .json files under the 'main' folder (those contains the elements of your level).
If you have N++, use the 'Search in files' function, add a filter for .json files are restrict it to your level's folder.
