Hi, i made a small batch script to change the enginesounds in realtime. in the zip file are currently 3 different enginesounds (not the best ones) and the original sound. maybe someone can make better sounds for it. Install: extract the zip file into your beamNG.drive folder How it works: open the batch file soundmod.bat you have the choice of currently 4 sounds: [1] Ibishu Covet (Small Engine) [2] Gavril (Big Engine) [3] Civetta (Sports Car) [4] Original Sound after seleting 1-4 it will copy and overwrite the existing enginesound to the folder art/sound/cheetah_engine.ogg there comes a small error window in the game. just press okay and the sound is changed. ***************************************************************************************************** Update 08.12.13: Now you can choice of 13 different sounds including Diesel Engine Sound. [1] Small Engine 1 [2] Small Engine 2 [3] Small Engine with Turbo [4] V6 Engine 1 [5] V6 Engine 2 [6] V8 Engine [7] V8 Engine Tuned [8] Big Engine [9] Sport Engine 1 [10] Sport Engine 2 [11] Diesel Engine 1 [12] Diesel Engine 2 [13] Diesel Engine 3 [14] Original Sound regards user099
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time It works! BUT The Covet sounds a bit like a lawnmower. The gavril doesnt sound like its revving much. And the Civetta sounds almost like a rc plane. Good job though! And I didnt get any error.
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time as i said the sounds are not the best ones ;-) for me it is important that the script is working and i hope someone will make new sounds.
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time This is great! but how are the sound files made? im intrested in trying to make new ones and i am curious as to how to make a sound file.
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time at first i was skeptical, but im glad i tried it out. the hatchback engine kinda sounds like something from the old gameboy, but other than that, these are pretty good. good job
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time Cool. I haven't tried adding sounds yet, but can I just plop em in and will it recognize it or do I have to replace one of them? EDIT: Got me some cool trans am sounds I don't know much about coding or anything, but would there be some possible way to have the script set a different sound file when you spawn a car affiliated with it? Also, it seems that I don't get that error menu you talked about when changing sounds..
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time nice i tried to add a blow off sound by changing the "shift.ogg" sound but i cant get it to work i think its because its very quiet have you tried anything like that
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time How do I put in a different sound, one separate from what's given. I tried one .ogg but it didn't work.
Re: Small Script to change Engine Sound in Real Time For some reason the .ogg engine clips I make don't work.. I made one of the v8 in Automation.
oh god such. a. simple. batch. file. Why not convert it to .exe? Or maybe write it in VB.net as an actual executable? Makes it seem more legit and l33t. Just some ideas. Good job.
Somehow it doesn't work for me...? says it can't find the path or something (error message is in Dutch so not sure what English words to use in describe it)
You must have BeamNG installed to a foreign location, this script requires you to install beamng to %appdata%\local Simply edit the script to make it work.
[fixed] all i had to do was increase the sound in sony vegas with the slider to left of the timeline because it wasnt loud enough, also you render it in Audio: 96 Kbps, 44,100 Hz, Mono, Ogg i tried getting a new sound in by recording my silvia s15 and then importing it to sony vegas, i then opened one of the other sound files and got the correct length the sound should be but i couldent work out what sample rate ect. to render it in for the batch file to recognize it so i just overwrite one of the other sound files (small engine sound 2) but it is just dead quiet in game? any help
