Just asking, but is this even possible to do? I want to change my car's suspension to another one by code but I don't think it should work.
Basically what you need to do is copy the mounting nodes and the components from one vehicles and set them up to worth in the other. Its quite basic when you think about it. Just dont change any of the nodes positions and you should be fine.
That's basically it, it's simply a matter of making the components of the suspension work with the body/chassis desired. That said, the most difficult part of the conversion would be re-adjusting the nodes on the body of the car to accept the new suspension setup. For example, let's say we want to exchange the ETK 2400i's semi trailing arm setup for a double wishbone subframe from a later ETK. While doable, you will have to move around and possibly add more nodes to the 2400's body (stock one probs has nowhere to mount upper trailing arms). You can use the mounting points on the new ETK's body as a reference as to where to move/add nodes on the 2400i. It's also important when moving or creating nodes to do so relative to the rest of the suspension, otherwise you will compromise the geometry and most likely run into handling or game stability issues. Always adjust the body's mounting points relative to the suspension. Furthermore, if you need to move the suspension subframe (e.g if you take the rear end from an ETK wagon, you will probably find it needs to be moved forward to fit in a 2400i), make sure you move all the nodes the same relative to each other. Back to the OP, what car and suspension setup were you looking to change?
I want to swap the stock suspension of the Morgel Chamus to a ETK I one. (https://www.beamng.com/threads/morgel-chamus.30416/)
