    Like the title says how to I edit the torque / power/ gears of of the vehicle. The Engine . Jbeam file is little confusing for me. theirs the torque curve and trans section but when i edit it gets messed up the car doesnt have power or it doesnt move. I know in RoR theirs the torque and gear section of the .truck file and you just edit it. Can anybody help Thanks Josh.

    If you edit the values properly without messing up the syntax it should work fine. It's fairly straightforward - the gear ratios are in the transmission part and the torque curve is in the engine part, as well as a bunch of other values.

    Hey Gabester In the Jbeam Engine files theirs Is "enginetorque":[ ["rpm", "torque"]
    [0, 0],
    [500, 190],
    [1000, 270],
    [2000, 400],
    [3000, 460],
    [4000, 430],
    [5000, 370],
    [6000, 260],
    ],
    "engine":{
    "idleRPM":1000,
    "shiftDownRPM":3200,
    "shiftUpRPM":5000,
    "maxRPM":6000,
    "inertia":0.16,
    "friction":24,
    "brakingCoefRPS":0.15
    "burnEfficiency":0.45
    "throttleSensitivity":1.1

    to add more torque would have to define a higher RPM and Add a power # after the RPM # to make more power? Sorry I'm more use to RoR's .truck file and it's simplisty.

    Yes, the engineTorque is simply a list of RPMs and torque values (in NM). You can add more RPMs and torque values and also increase the maxRPM value in the engine to get more power. Increasing each torque value in the torque curve will also add more power, obviously.

    Sorry Gabester where it the trans section were I can add more gears and clutch duration. in the pickup truck .Jbeam file I cant find it. I know in Mythbusters Cadillac .Jbeam file there was a gears section sorry for bothering you but thanks for the help and fast reply's.

    Does editing the I6 .Jbeam transmission also change and affect the V8 .Jbeam transmission file to?

    Yes, both engines use the same transmission. The naming of the files (and which parts are in them) is purely organizational.

    Gabester I have another question didn't want to make a diffrent thread in the I6 Pickup .Jbeam file sates as follows} "engine":{
    "transmissionType":"automatic",
    "lowShiftDownRPM":1300,
    "lowShiftUpRPM":2800,
    "highShiftDownRPM":2600,
    "highShiftUpRPM":4800,
    // -1, 0 (neutral), 1, etc
    "gears":[-2.8, 0, 2.8, 1.53, 1.0, 0.72]
    "clutchDuration":0.35
    "viscousCoupling":8
    "lockingTorqueLimit":500
    "enableLocking":true
    },

    My question is what does visous coupling and locking limit and enable locking do? is that a torque converter setting?

    I am obviously not Gabe, but I can assume the ViscousCoupling and LockingTorqueLimit has to do with the 4WD center differential. (distributing torque between the front and rear axles)

    Those values are to do with the automatic transmission's fluid coupling. A higher viscousCoupling value is more rigid (allows less slip). The locking is currently disabled. Real automatic transmissions have lockers that engage to reduce slip when necessary, but we couldn't quite get them to work right so they're disabled for now. It is not related to lockable differentials (which are planned)

    Okay so viscous Coupling is like RoR's Clutch pressure setting so the trans doesnt slip? What is the highest # VC can go up to?
