Hey guys, I've been working on a movie project for the past days and I made a quick little trailer for it. Don't expect it to be released anytime soon as I want to go the extra mile to make this an amazing piece of work. "Charlie will be a short film of around 20-30 minutes, showing how BeamNG can be a great platform for storytelling and content creation." Trailer | Part 1 Stay tuned for more info as I may post updates and behind the scenes on this thread Now working on Part 2!
It's going well so far, even faster than what I expected. There are a lot of things that I don't like and that I would like to change but 1/4 of the clips are here to stay. Does anyone know where I could find good music for movies? Spending my day on Youtube only to find nothing is not my thing. Oh, and here's your first sneak peek :
Any thoughts on the overlay? Do you think it's "overdone" just for subtitles? Edit: It's not finished, i'm just trying to get everyone's opinion
This is excellent! Sometimes when watching Friz's movies, I have difficulty determining who's talking until near the end of the movie; this would clear up any confusion as to who says what.
Somehow this small animation feels really nice. Hope some of you are still interested in this project! Took forever to figure out how to upload videos here
This is great... wonder if there is a voice audition... Then again... its the owner's choice --- Post updated --- Also... Darn, I was going to audition in Friz's movie as Charlie Drives, but seeing that you took the name... I'm fine with it.
Thanks! I won't spoil the whole story as I think that you will find the movie better if you don't know anything about it Apart from simple lines, the characters won't talk much. (And the main character is mute, I just thought this would add to the originality and it can make for some jokes too.) But i'll keep you in touch if there is a sequel Nope, no voice acting sorry. Again, the characters don't talk much and this movie is more about image than sound (hope this makes sense)
Confused by what you meant by subtitles? I didn’t see any. Aren’t subtitles like captions at the bottom of the screen, in the vid itself? I saw words in black screen but that was about it. It looks good the way it is though.
They are subtitles, just fancy ones I thought I'd use this method over regular "text" subtitles because I don't wan't to reveal too much of the character's names early in the movie. So I just used a picture of the character's car to represent him so that the viewer can understand who's talking.
Work has been kind of slow lately. My apologies to everyone. I have a ton of work for school and I have a severe lack of inspiration to continue the story. I'm not abandonning this project by any means, I just don't have any ideas as of now. I'll try to work on it soon, but for now there isn't much progress. Current stats : Video length : 9 minutes Number of clips: 181 Time spent recording (setting up chases, crashes, scenes, traffic,...) : Around 32 hours total Time spent editing (Contains time spent designing graphics) : Around 9-10 hours total
