Hi everyone, I have started to model a lore-friendly Renault Magnum. It won't be a 1:1 copy. I want to make it detailed, but my knowledge of the chassis and the cab frame is limited. I looked at some pics as references, but they were a bit insufficient. I'm planning to use Gavril T-Series engines as the real truck used to use some American Mack engines. As far as I know, Cherrier is used for French brands in Beamng, that's why I chose to use it. I can alter the name later if you suggest better model names. It's gonna be great if you can provide some chassis and under-cab pics. Thank you in advance!
Nice idea and looks promising. Some suggestions for the name to be more french: https://translate.google.com/?sl=en&tl=fr&text=potent&op=translate Maybe Cherrier Fort or Cherrier Puissant ...?
Thank you for the recommendation! After some research, I found that "Magnum" means "Great, Large." So, I decided to use the name "Potent" (Mighty, Powerful), which has a similar meaning to Magnum. Cherrier Fort sounds good, though. I will consider it.
Well it looks to be a somewhat easy project to handle, but we all know how easy projects can turn into a challenging project!
The most intimidating part is the code of suspension. I've never tried to edit suspension jbeam before. Let's see what will happen. --- Post updated --- Update 5: I've started to work on the rear axle&suspension.
i think Cherrier Maximus would be a good name for it --- Post updated --- Not sure if it's within your skill level, but at least one euro- specific engine option would be nice as well. Also, will you make both left and right hand drive versions?
Update 6: Changed the suspension system a bit. Added an axle and fuel tanks. Guys, I think I will need help with the suspension beam. If anyone can help me, please let me know. --- Post updated --- Maximus sounds good. I will consider it, too. Engine modeling is not a big deal. The main problem is jbeam
