    Hello everyone,

I have issues with a "choppy replay" when trying to see a video that was just recorded, no slow motion, no many cars, I think my PC is pretty good to have 4-5 spawned cars... I've tried to change a lot of parameters on PC and also in the game itself but still have this choppy replay issue.

    Example:

    PC spec:

CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 5800X BOX CPU

Graphics Card: Inno3D GeForce RTX 3060 Twin X2 OC 12GB

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2

    Memory: 32 GB - GOODRAM IRDM Pro 16GB 3600MHz Deep Black x 2

SSD drive: Samsung 500GB M.2 PCIe NVMe 980

Power supply: Seasonic Focus GX 550W 80 Plus Gold

OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home 64bit

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hello! I think this is a global issue with the game. I've been dealing with it for months, I've had several other people replicate it on different computers. I had lots of back and forth with beamng tech support but they were not helpful and just stopped responding to me. It appears to get worse with the more vehicles you have out on the map. I'm running a pretty decent PC and it still does it:

    CPU: 10900k overclocked to 5ghz
    GPU: RTX 3070Ti
    Ram: 32gb 3200mhz
    SSD: 1gb NVMe

The only work around is limiting camera movement or not using the camera tool and screen recording live in super slomo, then speeding it back up in an editor... which is a pain and you lose a ton of camera control. I've done a complete clean wipe of my computer (full uninstall/reinstall of windows) and installed the game fresh and it still does it, so it is not related to mods.

Open your game options, go to performance, then click "open performance graph." Play your replay, you'll see massive lag spikes on the replay chart. Attached is what mine is doing.
    BEAM, can you fix this????

Hi! I opened the performance graph and saw the same lag spikes... cannot get rid of it for a long time, it's really annoying...

Only workaround I found it's to use Script AI Manager, i.e. you record paths by Script AI Manager, click "Play All". In that case it works without any lags.

I'll try to play with different settings, but it looks like there is some issue with the recording functionality of the replay tool. Because "Replay" in Script AI Manager works great, but "Replay Record" in "Replay UI" works with lags..

I even tried to record on "8 times slower than real-time", but the result is the same - I see lags.

Use of Script AI Manager is slightly inconvenient in my case, but I do not see a solution, at least for now.

I'll be very grateful if developers take a look at this ticket and propose a solution on it.

Slight update. I got a support email from Beamng saying they see the issue and will make performance optimizations to try and fix it. No time estimate on when that will happen though.

We are still investigating the issue. Could you please follow these steps and send us requested information for further investigation:

    1) Disable you VSync in "Options" > "Display" > "Vertical sync"
    2) Open performance graph "Options" > "Performance" > "Open performance graph"
    3) Wait until graph is showing enough data
    4) Take a screenshot
    5) Export the data in CSV and JSON in "Performance Graph" > "File" > "Export"

Please perform this on following maps:

    - Launch the map: Grid, small, pure
    - Launch the map where you experience the lowest FPS
    - Launch the game with AI
    - If you experience lag in other situations, please attach a screenshot with performance graph as well.

Please attach files here or you can mail them via support@beamng.com

    Hello all.

Finally found what caused this issue

This was my ̶s̶t̶u̶p̶i̶d̶ ̶m̶i̶s̶t̶a̶k̶e̶ first time I personally assembled a computer myself. (excuses are not accepted, I know ;))

I put GPU to the PCIe Gen 3 instead of to put it to the PCIe Gen 4 (Motherboard B550 AORUS ELITE V2)

    I know, I know - it's a stupid mistake...o_O

So, now, the issue with choppy replay has been fixed!

    Check this out:

Furthermore, I made second stupid mistake, put my SSD to the wrong M.2 socket:

Lucky! I'm running PCIe 3.0 and do not have a 4.0 board, I'm unable to attempt to run my card on a 4.0 slot to see if it works better.
