So I bought my kids this game for Christmas, wasn’t thinking about the fact that our computer is literally 10 years old and wouldn’t come close to loading. So, I guess I am going to have to buy a new computer they can play it on. I know absolutely nothing about computers. Can someone suggest one that would work for this game?? Preferably one that is $500 or so. I would prefer laptop but desktop is okay too

    Thank you!!!!

What game is it? Do prefer a laptop or desktop? Desktops tend to be cheaper. :)

It's very difficult to upgrade a laptop in future, so I'd choose the desktop. With 500$ you can build an entry level (but still capable) computer:
    - CPU: Ryzen 3 1200
    - MOBO: ASrock A320M
    - RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8Gb (2x4Gb; 2666Mhz)
    - GPU: MSI AMD RX 560 Aero ITX (4Gb)
    - SSD: Kingstone A400 SSD (120Gb)
    - HDD: Western Digital Blue 500Gb (7200 RPM)
    - PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 450 W
    - Case: Cougar MX330-X
    Total cost: $553 (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bt42xG)
It's an entry level computer, so you can't expect to have all the settings maxed out with the game running at 60+ Fps.
Hope this helped; feel free to ask more information if needed.
