If I want to create a single part mod, how would I do that without making an entirely new modded car file? Is there a good guide out there to do this? I want to create a couple different styles of wings/spoilers and make a higher grip set of racing tires.
Official vehicles have a 'mod' slot Simply assign your part to that slot and you are good to go (The slot is invisible ingame if there are no suitable parts for it)
I feel that I might need a little more information. How exactly do I assign the part? I assume I don't add the part to the DAE file. I'm just starting to get into modding BeamNG. I've read through the guide to creating new vehicles, but I haven't seen anything for specific parts. Also, if I wanted to create a new set of tires, where would I add them to make them available for all vehicles?
BeamNG.Drive supports multiple .dae files, so you don't have to modify the original one. http://www.beamng.com/threads/introduction-to-multidae.10210/ This is for example the bumper of the 200BX: I simply change the 'slotType' part to this to have the part assigned to the slot mod: For tires it's different, as those are global parts. check in vehicles\common\tires you will find all the tires and their Jbeam. They will have different slotType, which will corrispon to specific 'rims/wheels'.
