    Well, here is the first version of Crimson. There is a pretty good chance that some aspects of this map are a little bit off. Therefore, it is in beta right now.

    Please, report any problems that you come across.
    What do you all think of the sounds?

    Also, I haven't gotten around to adding scenarios yet.

    Eh....so much that.
    screenshot_00164.png

    Atmosphere is awesome if not a tad creepy with all the strange musical interludes.

    If you drop the fog height and intensity, change the sun angle a bit, increase the sun strength
    value to 1.9 and lower the exposure value to 1 or so it really makes the color of all the
    textures come to life. I know you didn't ask for my advice but I couldn't help it:p. Those
    changes make a huge impact on the richness of the artwork.

    Huhuhu, a very good beginning!

    Well, I love : - Colors of the landscape (you have really a lot of variation colors) what tools do you use in world machine?:confused:
    - The point of interest sign! It is a little humorous...
    - This point of view! screenshot_00033.jpg

    - The draw of the track (very speed :D)
    - The road texture and specially the damage road variation on the side look very good, perfect!

    Also, for piano song you must down a little the gain of your piano when you record, because high notes are saturate..:p

    Humm and after what are your ideas for the next?

    And yes! For what do you use the Cryengine? Curiously...

    You should change the "Drive safely" sign into "Crash badly"

    I used a modified version of this Macro. For some reason or other, it didn't want to add erosion, so I added the erosion with layers via Gimp 2.9.

    Would you like for me to generate a macro with all of the colors for Canyon of Speed?

    World Machine64 2015-12-13 11-49-25-10.jpg

    Yeah... I need to improve my audacity and recording skills. So, I'll hop on this pretty soon.

    Next, I'm smoothing the roads and cleaning up the terrain in another individual's map.

    Cryengine was used for the smoothing and banking of the roads. Unfortunately, Blender is a little too technical for me.

    I think all of these changes might be a wee bit of Overkill. However, I definitely need to make the sunlight more yellow. The current lighting is directly out of my old Norwegian map.

    just a little:p

    That spec map is far too strong. This will be fixed in no time.

    I've sent a lot more time in places like this than I'd care to admit, you hit the nail on the head with the whole atmosphere of this map, well done. I can almost smell the burning cow hair and hot sagebrush now; I miss those days.

    Yeah! It's a good feeling!:D

    Thanks Ouerbacker for your proposition but Canyon of speed is for later... I really think about remake this good map but it's not the moment.. Maybe we will work a little together in the futur? For the moment I want to finish Altitude and nothing else.

    The Cryengine seems to be a good engine! :confused:

    Also I am musician too. If you want some advices maybe I can help you but I work on Live Ableton..

    I love this terrain! I got a good 12 miles of driving out of it first time I loaded it (how fun it is). You can easily get 110 mph in the D-15. I also took 20 screenshots of this and uploaded them to Steam it's so good.

    Lol, I even crashed into the Drive safe sign and it wasn't even on purpose. :p

    I remember rumors about an official Utah-like map, is this... ? (jk)
    Really well done, the maps atmosphere is amazing, the roads are smooth, the textures as well as the other things awesome!

    The video is pretty good. It looks like there is a texture glitch on your side, though. Is there a file called "art" under your my "documents/BeamNG.drive" folder. If so, the material.cs files in this folder should probably be put in their corresponding maps. This will keep certain terrain materials from being overwritten in other maps and allow for a smoother release of your own map.

    Sounds good. I'm pretty sure that most of the people who see this posting are looking forward to Altitude.

    I can't say much about the engine, but the road tool is simplistic and strong.

    I don't think that I'm at the stage where I can ask for advice yet. Currently, I don't know what 99% of the buttons in Audacity do, so I just need to go watch some basic tutorials or something.

    There is an art folder, but all it contains is a sound folder with wind.ogg in it. And what is the texture glitch?

    It looks like your "rock" and "rockydirt" terrain layers are defaulting to a particular set of textures out of dri or eca. Based upon some of your steam screenshots, this appears to also be happening in other maps. Problems like this used to happen all of the time in the original alpha, but I thought that they were gone.

    Out of curiosity, do you have a folder called "art" in either your Beamng install spot, the file that contains your game's executable, or documents/beamng.drive/levels?
    Alternatively, there might be a stray material.cs file somewhere.

    Its entries would define terrain materials and look something like this. Also, please note that this is a very old and entirely broken terrain materrial.
    Code:
    new TerrainMaterial()
    {
       diffuseMap = "levels/playing/base15";
       diffuseSize = "200";
       detailMap = "levels/tuy214";
       detailDistance = "11111";
       macroMap = "levels/shortdesert/art/terrain/rockygravel";
       macroDistance = "3002";
       internalName = "warning_material";
       macroStrength = "11";
       detailStrength = "0.4";
       detailSize = "200";
       macroSize = "9";
       parallaxScale = "0";
    };

    Nope, no art folders in the locations you mentioned. But it does not make any difference to me, everything seems normal. :/

    This is one of the nicest looking maps yet, that I've seen on here. Great work. Thinking about making a map like this. Can't wait until BNG lets us LINK maps together (keep fingers crossed, even loading zones would be better than nothing!)

    The Mexican cover of "Pine Apple Rag" is so cute it made me the happiest I've been in Drive since the vehicle debug came out.
