I thought it would be an awesome idea to post an idea about game modes, i was thinking about different types of game modes like Racing where you can customize your car and have decals etc. and race and then you have the free roam mode and all these many other possibilities!
This is already planned to be in the game. It's going to have diffrent gamemodes like race, sandbox, etc.
There is already a thread for this but, who cares anyway? I'd love to see pursuit mode, I like police vehicles and weapons... If we had weapons... That gave me an idea! We can actually have weapons in BeamNG, it will surely not be in game (I think), but someone could mod it in. Torque 3D itself has weapons, so we probably just need to change an option in Lua or Torque. Then we would be able to shoot and blow up vehicles. And that gave me another idea (Today I'm full of ideas, sorry )! If we have weapons in Torque 3D, we could have air crafts and tanks that shoot! xD
If the devs add weapons, this will probably become a GTA like game. I would only like to see weapons to shoot on cars and see how they react on the impact and damage from the bullet.
If i recall right they wouldn't allow that type of stuff in rigs of rods so it most likely won't be in beamng.
I wonder if tanks and other military stuff would be allowed if the guns and other weapons are not working, would be cool if we had tanks but not shooting and killing purposes.
I'm pretty sure you can make tanks and stuff just no shooting weapons were allow i think not 100% sure.
Yes, they are definitely allowed. Although, no type of projectiles (tank shells, mortar, RPG, etc.) or weapons will make it in the game. The devs are strictly (my judging from the strict NO response on the countless RoR topics about it) against it.
if we get decent engine hooks for the lua scripting, making weapons that fire from the car shouldn't be hard at all. I'm no programming guru, but couldn't it be something like this?: When user presses space, create object at user's car position load object model from mods/bullet.modelfile give object *THIS* weight and other properties, make sure it's collidable, etc apply force to object that matches the direction the user's car is moving loop to check for input and for bullets in the world that are old/aren't moving and delete them I'd love to see some Carmageddon like weapons, I think it'd be awesome. Also, didn't one of the devs say that they already use their scripting system for some of the stuff already ingame?

What about IED's? That could be fun blowing up the cars with different bombs and technically their not a projectile or gun. It would be fun to blant IED's on road in multiplayer and wait for an unsuspecting car to come cruising along! Would it be easier to script EID's over guns and other "shooting" weapons?
