Aloha! So as an exercise in learning how in the poop this game ACTUALLY works, I've started a project! First attempt at modeling after taking a break for a while (4x4Evo2 was quite a few years ago). Basically just extended the control arms, and fenders. Obviously a heavy WIP since I only have one front fender even remotely in the right place. The fun part is that I have NO idea how to do custom jbeam. I've figured out how to handle the extended control arms up front to include proper tuning, but I have no idea how to do the back. The idea for the rear suspension is a basic baja-style 4-link coil-over setup. By basic I mean face tormentingly complicated to set up nodes from scratch to allow me to connect the coil-overs midway down the lower linkages. If anybody has any tips or guides, I'd be greatly appreciative. Right now, it's running a slightly modified version of the stock D-15 Off road rear setup that I dialed in for handling tests.
Re: D-15 Baja Wow looks really cool and fun to drive! Excellent first mod! Gesendet von meinem GT-I9105P mit Tapatalk
Re: D-15 Baja Looks good, but at the moment the rear suspension is almost impossible until slide nodes are added, they will allow you to place a node part way along a beam rather than at each end.
Re: D-15 Baja Well that's slightly disheartening. Ah well, at least I can try to get the 4 link to work. Also I'll try to actually release it as soon as the front fenders match and the bed isn't see-through on one side.
Re: D-15 Baja I have every intention of finishing this truck. Right now, what's holding it up is the rear suspension. Putting together a 4-link jbeam from scrach is proving to be extremely difficult. Also, I'm just not happy with the lack of suspesion travel at this point. Rest asured, you will be able to jump the ever loving poop out of this in the near future.
Re: D-15 Baja i LOVE ALL OF THESE TRUGGY / TROPHY TRUCK / BAJA CREATIONS THAT ARE COMING OUT HAHA.. I love this! I agree with insanegaz too, it'd be sweet. Great job also.
Re: D-15 Baja Here's a rear 4link solid axle JBeam, you only have to rename the parts, move it to fit on the pickup and attach the links and shocks to your frame . Links and shocks are from line 203 to 250. It's got rear brakes, differential and a section that makes it a solid axle (it's base is a steering axle). It also includes a swaybar (helljeep_sway_rear), but that's easily deleted. Wheel nodes are: {"group":"hubRL"}, ["rxl10", 0.62, 1.45, -0.15], ["rxl11", 0.95, 1.45, -0.15], {"group":"hubRR"}, ["rxl14", -0.62, 1.45, -0.15], ["rxl15", -0.95, 1.45, -0.15],
Re: D-15 Baja You, sir, are my hero. I'll see about getting this implemented within the next day or two.
Re: D-15 Baja This is going to be my favorite mod of all time! Right now it's that green trophy truck, but this looks like it's going to totally blow everything else out of the water! So excited! I really hope there is some sort of release soon, even if it's an alpha. woohoo!
