We've got BeamMP, we've got a massive off-road map - we've got half-a-dozen off-road vehicles (including the Scintilla) - what's honestly stopping BeamNG.Drive from picking a date - and having a MASSIVE multiplayer event? - time all of our runs and maybe even have a leaderboard - I think that would be INSANE - especially with wheel support, and it going over multiple days.
You'd need some insanely powerful computers for that. Mine can run all the latest games at 60fps on Ultra, and it doesn't even stand a chance simulating over 8 vehicles in BeamNG! Especially not on Ultra. If someone were to lay out a track and set a time, sure, it could work. People may get lost during the race though.
Yeah, you're right about that! I'll be honest, it could prove to be fun, but I think it's best not to use BeamMP for it. If a person could just record themself racing around and send in the time, that would be perfect.
Do you really though? I don't know how BeamMP works, but I remember Wreckfest uses a system where each computer only manages its player's car
Every vehicle spawned needs to be simulated on every client side, simply due to how complicated BeamNG is. I mean think about how much different stuff would have to be sent over some internet connections that are not capable of sending them. So much data, so many node positions. --- Post updated --- I think one main reason that this wouldn’t happen the fact that BeamMP isn’t a part of BeamNG. BeamMP is developed as a mod independently from BeamNG, they have no professional affiliation.
Sure, we’ve got BeaMP, but keep in mind that it’s not made by Beamng themselves. It’s simply an addon with its own dev team and website. I’d love to see a collab, that would have been cool.
