Known issues: After refreshing the UI (by using the F5 key in-game), due to the Autoplay policy, user interaction is required for audio to function (currently resolved by displaying a message) After updating from v0.1 to v0.2, the overlay may not be visible due to the app's height being too low; simply remove the app in 'UI Apps' section and add it again
How to use Custom Dashcam Model Custom Dashcam Model works by using your own config files located in BeamNG.drive user folder/mods/unpacked/dashcamui/(your folder name). Head to the Mods section, select Mods Manager, find the Dashcam mod and click on it. Press the button Unpack. Disclaimer: After unpacking a mod, it can no longer be updated automatically. More info at the end of this tutorial. When done, close the Mods section. Make sure custom dashcam model is selected in the Options window. By default the folder name used is custom but you may change it to something else in the textbox. This allows you to have multiple saved custom configs. Now click the button Open in Explorer. In Explorer go to dashcamui folder. Create new folder - remember to use the exact name you entered in the textbox (or if you left that empty, create one named custom). Open the newly created folder and create a new Text Document named info. Open newly created file in Notepad and copy paste the text below: model: Your Model Name fontName: Roboto OR vcr OR hemi logoSize: Recommended 5 - 15 hideLogo (delete this if you don't want the logo to hide) Edit text above to your preferences. For example: or As you can see, not every property must be declared; simply the default values will be used instead. You can even leave this document empty, however at least one character (for example, a dot) is required beacuse instead you will get an error. When done, save the document. Now, optionally, if you want to have custom logo, put logo.png in the folder. If you want custom font to be used, place font.ttf file in the same folder. Go back to BeamNG.drive. The overlay should update automatically, but if not, press the F5 key to refresh the UI. Information about Unpacked mods: From now on, updating the mod will have to be done manually. To update to a newer version make a backup of all your custom config folders. Then delete dashcamui folder in unpacked directory and install newer version from the repo. After the mod is installed, you will need to repeat step 1 & 2. Then simply move your backed-up folders again to the mods/unpacked/dashcamui folder.
