Hi BeamNG, I've got an idea for a challenge. Starting line to finish line. 1.5 miles. Fastest time possible with vanilla cars and parts. Build whatever you can imagine. Squeeze whatever performance you can while staying away from the trees... The challenge will be using the Deal's Gap map mod found on the repository. It's called (Tail of) The DRAGON ver_beta.1.01/Deal's Gap by Bob_Blunderton. It starts at the default spawn location, which is the rest stop/gas station. It'll weave through the trees from there until you reach a scenic pull-off area with a large tree on your left. The imaginary line from that tree across the road is the finish line. Timing will be...iffy. Let's just promise to use an Honor system and time the start/finish as accurately as we can with replay or our phone stopwatches or something. I specifically don't want to set restrictions on cars here. Like how in Formula One how every fan has always wanted to see how fast the cars can really go...but never could because of regulations and *safety* (boo). NOT HERE!!! Though if you want to restrict yourself to a certain car and see how far you can push it, like having the fastest Ibishu Covet, by all means do that as well. I've included a video to better show the track and its amazing flow. Hope some of you find it fun! --- Post updated --- Had a theory that Drag tires would improve the traction issues of the Scintilla...was correct. New time: 1:08.14 A 5 second improvement...insane. But now it's made the front very twitchy. Need to dial in steering. Btw I have video of the run that will also maybe give you an idea of how to record times. Using the vanilla replay app, you can pretty easily start it when your run starts and then simply pause the game to see your time once you cross the tree/finish line. You'll see. I'll throw down some times to start things. If people get into it I will compile the best times with each car on a google spreadsheet that we can all view. Deal's Gap Map quick time trial: -(All cars lightened as much as possible without removing body panels, given as much HP as traction allows, and wider race tires. Bolide/Scintilla Full Race actually has reduced HP for better traction). -The Hillclimb cars benefit heavily from AWD traction...but otherwise upgraded the same way the other cars are. Its traction allows higher HP and will be tough to beat.
