for the D-series pick-up I think adding some big block diesels would be awesome, maybe base them off of the current trucks diesels (6.7L i6, 6.7L v8, 6.6L v8) and add some diesel custom part (stacks)

    kind of off the topic but I would like to see some bigger gas engines for the D-series (5.0L v8, 5.3L v8, 5.7L v8, 6.2L v8 6.8L v10)

    other diesel engine options (7.3L v8, 6.0L v8, 5.9L i6 6.2L v8, 6.5L v8)

That seems like a good idea. There is already a lot of mods for diesel engines only for other cars. I am pretty sure they will be a mod of that soon.

For the age of the D-Series, most of the diesels you would get would probably still be N/A diesels. Ford didn't go turbo until 1993 and GM in 1992. The D-Series is an 88-94 model. Most of the diesels from the time were only making 150-180hp so, they wouldn't be very quick at all.

in the grand scheme of things maybe add a new body to the truck so you can have more years, most of the trucks from generation to generation don't change the frame it just the engines and body. so add a new body/box to the D-series and add more trailers. not only would it add to the sandbox but it could also add to the challenges (tow trailer from point A to point B). When your towing you don't need to much horsepower, you just need torque

P.S. both ford and GM had the option for both the Detroit diesel and the IDI to be turbo charged

I strongly agree with the first part. We need a facelift 95-02 (or similar) body style with some new engines. As it is, the standard engine in the D-Series is

The turbo on the IDI only became an option in 1993. No turbo was available from 83-92.
The 6.2L Detroit Diesel never left the factory with a turbo. Most 6.5s did but, that wasn't available until 1992. Again, the turbo was an option.
