This computer looks so cool, and its not overpriced with shoddy specs, like most Dells and HP's Now you're probably saying to your computer screen right now, "but u culd bild a pc for less then dat..." Yeah, you probably could, but not everyone can put a computer together, personally if I made one, it would probably be held together by silly putty and scotch tape. The base one costs $699, but the actually decent ones with good specs go for $979-$1,399. clicky
Please, please, please, please... just do it yourself. You can. If you are using the keyboard and and managed to post a link, you can build a computer. It's so easy, I built my first computer when I was 12 (That was some time ago, and I'm no genius), and there are plenty of guides. If you like that case, it's just a Corsair 230T If you want I can help you. Seriously. You will have more fun, you will know everything about your computer, and it will be cheaper.
Well the only thing I have a problem with on PC building is finding a good site and the vast amount of choices on some things kinda throw me off.
Newegg is the best, but also you can go to local computer stores. They can answer all of your questions, recommend things, etc etc. Also just know that having a pre-built computer shipped to you is...dangerous. Lost of delicate parts, and if you've ever seen how mail is delivered... well, not a great idea. I just finished a great build a lot like what you are looking for. Cost me ~$650 CDN and beats computers selling for $999. I can make a list of parts if you want. EDIT Just looked at the spec list. You'll be getting an i5 4590 and a GTX 760 for $999 plus shipping. Mine is i5 4690 (better) and GTX 750ti (slightly less) for $650

Yep, my bad. Fixed. Totals around 800, but I got all my stuff on sale, and that's quite the fancy case
$800 is quite expensive for me, I could probably care less about the case, all I really need is the specs.
You could save money by using used parts. The computer you're on now, you can take a hard drive from. Really, it's your choice. Adjust the specs. All you need to know is: That motherboard is ATX, so only use ATX cases You need a PSU upward of 400W for good efficiency and reliability. And you need a socket lga 1150 mobo for a recent intel cpu, or socket am3+ for a recent amd cpu. That's really it.
Like what? CD Drive? You'll use it once to install windows and that's it. I assume you have peripherals... Your pre-built doesn't come with any peripherals
If you wanna save money, build an AMD. Yea, I know, Intel is faster, but you could still build a fast AMD system for less. Airflow depends on case design. You should probably care more about the case.
You should try PC Part Picker (free) they make sure everything is compatible and tells you the estimated wattage plus the best deals. For a power supply there are good reviews at JonnyGURU. A good video telling how to build a PC here. - - - Updated - - - If you want to spend a lot of money ($1400): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yrdbGX
$1000 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZhspWZ Slightly worse CPU than the $980 one but better GPU, better RAM & better motherboard. - - - Updated - - - Might want to pick a different motherboard (that one has no USB 3.0).
It's about killing your console, but it's still a good video about how to build a $400 gaming PC. Kill Your Console: Build a $400 Gaming PC
