Hey guys! Been following this game since Rigs of Rods (Yes I'm aware they aren't the same game), love it so far. There is defenetly no other game that even rivals the deformation, physics and engine simulation you guys have going on.

I'm sure this has been suggested plenty of times, but will there ever be some sort of system that makes the dirt particles collide and stick to the body? Has anyone tried to achieve that yet? Same things with scratches.

There's so much going on in this game I'm surprised the physics don't lag. I remember Rigs of Rods would lose it's shit when you crashed cars into each other.

If there is any sort of testing going on for this, I've got a pretty fast pc (4770k, 1080Ti, 16gb ram) and I'm more then willing to do some pre release testing for anyone.

I think this has been asked before, and this could be accomplished with a new 3rd layer (2nd is skins) for dirt. I'm not sure about scratches tbh.

ok,so why would you suggest this again if its already been suggested? Use the search bar and google and it comes up with many threads of this exact some thing.

Agree with above. It gets kinda annoying to have to explain in detail why detailed scratches and dirt patches that are dynamic to the conditions would be hard to implement if whenever i do so someone decides to make a new thread.

Long story short: No. Too much work. Maybe an already pre-made layer of dirt skin would be easy to implement, but forget about dirt picking up where you cross or having dynamic scratches.

It would be a great feature, but it probably won't happen for a while. If I was a dev, I would put this on my high priority list.

Crashes would look 50% better. As for dirt, it would also look a ton better.

In my opinion, Scratches, and dirt markings are way more important than the Bluebuck.

If "useless" posts are so important to you, then why did you reply? Your information is irrelevant and does not apply to this topic in my eyes. I am aware that such a thing has been suggested.

The game would look much better, becoming a more complete package. I know to some people it's useless, but I'm sure the majority of people would agree that the whole concept of dirt and scratches would add a while other level of immersion into the game.

    Nicely said chief. I agree

Honestly, scratches and such would be a great way to make low speed collisions look better, which a lot of people seem to think is needed. It's not so easy to write off as not worth the work with that in mind. And of course, dynamic dirt effects would be awesome.

I don't know how much work it would be to do this right (aside from the vague and obvious answer of "a lot") so maybe it would be too much to be worth it even with that in mind.

I think at least simple generic dirt layer would be better than nothing though. Kinda silly to be able to drive a pristine gloss white car through mud without getting it dirty isn't great for immersion or the game polish standards.

And no, time spent on scratches will not necessarily delay the Bluebuck by a noticeable amount. There is more than one developer on the team and I doubt the vehicle artists would be focused on adding a new texture system. Adding the necessary textures would be the only significant delay in terms of constructing a new car and working on this system at the same time.

(But yeah, I agree with the first couple of comments. Plenty of threads discussing this before and this conversation is probably better had not on a new dedicatedthread)
