    Hello everyone,

I do not like the turbo dump valve sound or the turbo whistle. Is there a way to disable it?

I would also like to disable the turbo sounds. Sounds like alternator whine coming through my speakers

Bump for visibility. I can't stand that whine, psh, or the fact that they're the loudest sounds in the game.
I appreciate the sound of a good turbo, but until this game gets the sound right, I'd like to turn it off.

You can edit or replace them with silent sounds.

    OR

Open the default_sounds.sbeam and change the highlighted part to zero

Haven't tried myself, but it should work.

Useless to say you are editing game files.
    Make a backup somewhere.
If something break, revert these changes.

Thank you! I've reduced the turbo whistle in default_sounds and modified the BOV sound file with Audacity. It sounds so much better! Thanks again for showing me which files to work with!

Of course I did all this after making backups. :)
