Do beamng mods cost money

    hello! i just wanted to know if mods cost money because it says subscribe. i just recently got beamng and its really awesome and i want some mods.

    also, on a related note, if anyone finds this thread on the future: no one charges money for mods. if they are, they are likely trying to scam you.

    There are a few paid mods as far as I know, but it's not worth downloading them because there are other free mods that are similar.

    it has a a patreon (which is purely a choice, you're not obligated to sub to it) and you're being given a race and rally version of the car as a "thank you"

    yet it still gets bashed. Assetto Corsa is full of paid mods and people don't say anything.

    I was lurking at the time when the drama with that mod happened and I saw someone say that the reason the mod was bashed was not because of the paid configs themselves, but because of the quality of them, if it was just a thank you gift then it should have been at least good quality and according to that post it handled terrible and looked like an Automation mod. It was probably exaggerated a lot but still, something like this is supposed to be really special and not lazy. I haven't checked out the paid stuff myself so I can't tell, correct me if I'm wrong.

    Usually paid content is referred to as "DLC", and beamng does not have those. Beamng mods are free to use and enjoy unless you want a rally Raven R20.
