Hey guys, just recently bought the game and I love it! I was wondering if anyone might be convinced to whip up a car for me, maybe in exchange for $20 on a Steam Wallet or something. Thought it would be cool to drive my car in the game as well! https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7a/Dodge-Magnum.jpg
Well, making a car is a lot of work. It's probably a month of modelling, weeks of texturing, weeks of jbeaming, and more weeks of tweaking. It requires lots of skill and time, and thus most requests never get done. That said, now that there's money involved, people will be very interested, although I would like to know exactly what kind of quality are you looking for. Slapping a ripped mesh onto an official car's jbeam is what most mods seem to be like, and that takes significantly less time, although it's lesser in quality than something hand-made for this game. If you're fine with the first option then I think someone will take you up on the offer, perhaps I might if I have the time.
Well, I would prefer to have the most accurate representation of the car as possible, what monetary value would we be looking at? Rich
Well lets make a rough assumption of 100 hours of work to make a car. Minimum wage for an over 21 in the UK is £6.50 an hour. £650, or fairly close to 1000 us dollars. Now that is an absolutely horrible assumption to make and someone might actually be happy to do it in their spare time. It might not take 100 hours, it might take more, it might take less. The modder probably wont actually demand the true national minimum wage for doing it either. But, modding for this game is a large investment of time. Very large indeed. While I would honestly disregard the figure I provided, big time investments = big monetary investments too. I hope you at least see my point.
