Hi, I have my speakers connected to an integrated realtek audio card with an optical cable. In sound manager there is this "Dolby digital Live" feature that should feed the speakers with multichannel sound, which actually works for e.g. GTA and some other games, though in most games the sound is down-mixed to stereo. I have no idea what it takes to make this work but it would be really nice. I didn't bother connecting jacks as an alternative, it's not very convenient.

    Wrong forum.
    Wrong section.

You post your speaker problem into a game forum, and then you put your thread into "Ideas and suggestions", when this a "hardware problem", which is not for this forum.

It would be nice to have a surround sound type feature (If that is what you are suggesting) and i don't know if this has already been bought up before but it is probably already implemented. :)

It's not the point, I don't really doubt there will be surround sound. Only problem is with spdif connection. Many games that do have surround sound can't deal with digital audio output, so while it works fine through the jack trio, it only sends stereo through optical cable.
